Harlow And Pannal Ash Residents Association Description

We are pleased to confirm that the residents association for above is being refreshed with an extended remit. The Association now covers a very wide area from Harlow Carr to Arthurs Avenue to Rossett Green Lane and to Castle Hill.

The web site has been updated and will continue to be added to. The Facebook site for Save Harlows View is being hijacked and repurposed to support the wider residents association. There is also a twitter feed at https://twitter.com/HaparaHgt so all bases covered!

The immediate purpose of the group will be to comment on the new local plan that could see almost 3000 new houses within the represented area.

If interested please follow via your preferred social media or sign up to our newsletter at http://hapara.org.

PLEASE NOTE: Not all posts to this site are via HAPARA. The original admin of the Save Harlows View still also post.

Concern raised with @northyorkscc regarding poor state of roads and drainage concerns within our region. Spraying confirmed for Pannal Ash 12th July and the Harlow area 20th July but road sweeping down to @Harrogatebc.

Thanks to those who attended our @ZeroCHarrogate workshop this week. There was a good turn out and with positive constructive engagement to think more deeply about the travel options for the local area.
Let us know your views on key conclusions:
Four key area for HAPARA action came out of the residents discussion:... • Developing Low Traffic Neighborhoods (home zones) • Working with bus companies on routes/ bus services/shuttle buses • Pressing for "protected and connected infrastructure" • Working with schools to promote sustainable travel, particularly at key decision points for parents (age 3/4 and age 10/11)

Many of you will be aware that NYCC are holding a series of sessions on the congestion study. The material presented by NYCC has consisted of a number of boards covering the various incursions relating to Package B (sustainability) and Package E (sustainability plus infrastructure), with members of NYCC and WSP, who are the consultants that have been involved, being on hand to answer questions. Our worry with this overall process has been that little of the material being pre...sented by NYCC addresses the problems of the western arc of Harrogate, This Power Point presentation is an attempt to provide information in relation to the actual problems being experienced on the western arc, plus the anticipated effects of the nearly 4000 additional houses planned, and at the NYCC session that was held in Pannal Village Hall on 16th May many residents stated that they found this information useful. It has largely been compiled by Pannal & Burn Bridge, with input from HAPARA, and whilst it largely emphasises the problems be experienced by Pannal, it serves to highlight similar problems along the Otley Road, as well as other local roads.
So far much of the congestion study debate has been around the relief road that is part of Package E, so there has been a real danger that the problems of the western arc will be overlooked. The purpose of this presentation is , hopefully, to provide people with more immediately relevant information when completing the NYCC congestion study questionnaire. NYCC are aware of this material, and we have been assured that referring to it should not present a problem.
So far we are not convinced that the measures in either Package (B and E) will relieve the anticipated levels of congestion on this side of town, and we have yet to see deliverable solutions, one of which would need to be a significant improvement in public transport.

Don't forget this important event this Thursday.
We understand the parish council will be presenting some new material not seen at other events focusing more on the western arc.
As such even if attended another event may want to call into this as well.....
