About Harlow Jewish Community

Harlow Jewish Community (HJC) represents over 220 members from the Harlow & Gilston Garden Town area and neighbouring towns including Sawbridgeworth, Bishop's Stortford, Hertford, Ware, Broxbourne, Cheshunt, Epping, Brentwood and Chingford. Rabbi Irit Shillor has served our community since 2006. Email us to join our Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat Shacharit services, weekly Torah study group, or adult education classes on Zoom. We also hold regular social events including quiz nights. We will reopen our Cheder school when it is safe to do so. Our synagogue is located on Harberts Road in Harlow. Our synagogue, garden and car park cover two thirds of an acre. Our synagogue has one sanctuary, one social room, and a reception area, which can all be merged into one for festivals and commemorations. Our synagogue also has a modern and fully furnished kitchen. HJC is a constituent of the Movement for Reform Judaism, and a member of the Jewish Joint Burial Society.
