A huge well done to our Year 4 and Year 6 Science Fair finalists who were put through their paces in the next round of the Big Science Event competition! They had to answer some tricky questions about their projects and should be incredibly proud of their performance!

Year 5 went to a fantastic workshop at Banbury Museum. They were involved in workshops which showed them how engineering and inventing helped solve real-life problems through design, creativity and innovation. They looked at local examples based in Banbury such as the fake decoy factory in WW 2 and Bird’s no-egg custard powder. They then enjoyed a picnic and play in People’s Park. Well done to all Year 5 on behaving brilliantly and thank you to all the parents who helped.

Year 6 had a shock today when we announced that they had one last test......... could they eat a donut without licking their lips???! The children rose to the challenge with as much vigour and enthusiasm as they have shown us all week. We are proud of them all! Huge thanks to the staff who have supported the children all week and extra thanks to Sarah for cooking them breakfast each day!

Our Nursery took part in a Peppa Pig muddy puddle walk for the “Save the children” charity. It was great fun!! They started their day by talking about children who need our help to buy them clothes, toys, and pencils. They then put on their all in ones and boots and went outside to find some muddy puddles. They jumped and splashed through the puddles. They then went to Forest school to look for Peppa and her friends! When they found them they had to circle the pictures on their sheets. At snack time they all enjoyed fruit and a delicious cake! Mrs Bell counted all the money collected..... Nursery raised £150.18!!!!
We are all super proud 🐷 🌲 Well done Mrs Bell, Mrs Grant and all the Ducklings and thank you to the parents for your donations- the children had a brilliant day!!

Year 4 had a great afternoon of science at Wykham Park Academy. They had lots of fun observing onion cells under a microscope.

Year 3 were lucky enough to visit Broughton farm this week. We had to help with all sorts of jobs around the farm, including feeding lambs, collecting eggs and numbering sheep. We even learnt about bees, and spotted the queen bee in a hive. Thank you very much to Farmer James - What a fantastic time we have had! 🐮🐷🐝 Broughton Grounds Farm

Very well done to Toby for volunteering to demonstrate changes of pitch on his guitar to Year 4. This was for their topic of sound during their science lesson and was a really useful addition to the lesson. It takes a great deal of courage to perform solo in front of the whole year group.

Year 5 having a brilliant time learning about forces with the use of a hover board with Atomic Tom on Wednesday morning.

Year 5 had a brilliant time learning about forces with Atomic Tom on Wednesday morning. They discovered, by experimenting with magnets and iron filings, what a magnetic field looks like, they made paper helicopters to begin to understand air resistance and some even had a ride on Tom’s hover board! Thank you so much to Atomic Tom for his expertise and enthusiasm!

Year 3 jetted off on Wednesday, passports in hand, to the Netherlands and Spain as an introduction to our Europe topic this term. We learnt all about the countries we visited, from the local cultures to famous landmarks and enjoyed creating artwork inspired by Gaudi and Van Gogh. Great fun was had alongside lots of learning, however we didn't achieve much of a tan!
