Harry Ramsden'S Bournemouth

Our Director Frank Romano and Peter Jones have had the opportunity to talk and we are delighted that the family has accepted our apology. On reflection, in dealing with a very busy restaurant and the demands of all its customers, Peter acknowledges the manager and her team did everything possible to accommodate himself and his family. He also said the family will be returning to the restaurant so we look forward to welcoming them back, as our guests.

We take all feedback very seriously. For that reason, we are endeavouring to contact Mr Peter Jones, following comments made by other people on social media about his family's visit to our restaurant on Saturday evening, in order that the matter may be resolved.

We’re delighted to help out our Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe Volunteers with some Fish& Chips! Who’s at the Festival today?

Wish we had booked as we had quite a wait to be seated. It was well worth the wait, the food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant. I have been here before and it has always been good value and excellent food.

We love it this time we had the 60's menu and we loved it, great service.

We have used Harry Ramsdens in Bournemouth for many years it has always been the same fantastic food and very good service. We are very fussy with service and food and we have never had a problem always good service and great fish and chips ....keep up the great service.

Food was delicious, possibly a little overpriced but good portions and very filling. I really just wanted to compliment the wait team. Courteous, warm and attentive. Despite having to deal with a lack of chefs, massive parties that hadn't called ahead, and more than one exceedingly rude group of customers, they kept their composure and still delivered great service. Couldn't have asked for more.

Although extremely busy we only wanted a few minutes to be pleasantly directed to a window table. The waitress came to our table directly and took our order. She was friendly and courteous. The drinks came within 7/8 minutes and the food, which was plentiful, hot and very nice, came a couple of minutes later.All in all a pleasant experience.

Went to the Bmouth restaurant last night. Apart from a slightly abrupt male waiter when we entered it was a fantastic evening. The food was good value for money, the female waitress was very friendly and accomadating. The food was prompt and fresh. The desserts were a little bit of a let down.... Would probably give them a miss next time. We had banana splits which were £5.99.... consisted of one banana which was very bruised , a bit of cream and ice cream, we didn't eat much of the pudding... not great value.

The fish and chips were lovely and the restaurant was spotless and very nicely decorated. We will be returning. Also the female manager that was on duty seemed very nice even the waitress said she was a lovely manager.

Great service and the best chips! HOWEVER... absolutely amazed, shocked and disappointed that you are still using plastic straws!!! Unbelievable ☹️. 3 Stars because of the straws.

went to the takeaway, the food was minimal and the price was horrific, my partner had regualer chips and cod, turns out the chips were child size portion, my daughter and i had hotdog and chips the roll was like a brick and the sausage was dry, not like the harry's i used to know

Very disappointed with the Harry Ramsden in Bournemouth. Staff got our order wrong, a lady spanish server was extremely rude, walked away when being spoken too. Rolled her eyes when we complained about the order being wrong. Came back with wrong fish a second time. I ordered Haddock but they brought me out Cod twice. Everyone in our group was served the wrong dish... Chips were very poorly cooked. We go to Harry Ramsden often (usually Eastbourne) but this was not a great experience. We orfered cookies and ice cream with no cream as it makes our granddaufghter ill. They served het twice with cream, third time they came out no cream but seved what looked like a half eaten cookie! I am very sorry to say, it has put me off going back. I would rather find a local chip shop. They didn't care about our complaint and this meal was not cheap as we all had large fish and chips. #HarryRamsdensortyourstaffout

One waitress said she couldn’t provide me with any bread and butter, because she was not my waitress! After insisting she pass on the message to ‘my waitress’ some bread and butter arrived. In front of me, the waitress was then told off for providing me with ‘too big a portion of bread’. On paying, I asked the lady if she was the manager and she said no, she was training the lady.....she thought it was not a problem when I said she should not have provided feedback to her fellow colleague in training in front of the customer. This place has some serious customer service issues. Food was great.

Cooking each meal to order results in a long queue whenever you visit. Im sure that with the volume of customers that isnt necessary. The bins were ful to over flowing and there was rubbish on most tablles; no vinigar in any ofvtte bottles all empty. The food was good but a little on the expensive side.

Worse chips i have every had! I have visited a few Harry Ramsden's this was by far the worse. Management wouldn't come to the table to speak to us about the problems. Bad bad bad.....paid for inedible food.

Visited Bournemouth beach so decided to try out the fish and chips from here, had high hopes of quality....was terrible.



First of all the there was a long queue with only two people serving, wasn’t an issue I waited, was one person in the back frying and one outside clearing the tables.



Then I ordered two large cod and chips, paid just under £20 for both, that was ready in around 8 mins.

Sauces are 25p each.



We tried to find a place to sit, which wasn’t dirty and had left over food and boxes on, couldn’t find anywhere clean to eat so had to eat on a dirty table.



Opened the box to try this fantastic fish and chips, firstly I had less chips in one box than the other and at least half the chips were burnt and really dark brown. Then onto the fish was nothing to write home about, had no flavour to it was very bland, just lots of batter on it.



When we initially walked in I noticed one member of staff clearing tables, then he was nowhere to be seen, so this place is understaffed or the staff are slacking, as they cannot continue to clear and clean tables.



Was very disappointed, I’ve tried the Harry Ramsden’s in Brighton, that was lovely delicious fish plenty of flavour and chips were on point.



Do not recommend this branch until they sort of the issues of quality control and staff management.

Very rude staff, the woman who served me (French I think) put my ordered on the counter and walked off, she couldn’t even be bothered to put it in a bag! When I asked where my ketchup was she rolled her eyes, asked who served me and proceeded to shout his name - the staff member concerned came over, looked at me like I was a criminal to the point I opened my handbag to show him that I had not received them - unbelievable! To top it all off I ordered and paid for a large chips only to realise, like many reviewers on this page, that they had cocked up my order too and I had what can only be described as a small chips - the direct comparison being my boyfriends meal (large) which was triple the amount!



Most people in the shop ended up going back to the counter because their orders were incorrect, maybe you should train your staff to not only read but to display some common courtesy and manners to those paying their wages - AVOID

My friends has Medium portion each and thay was the same size as our large portion of chips.....Medium was 20 cheaper but cost them more as thay had one each, ..

Bread roll was dry and hard...

I'm shocked at how they can call these fish and chips world famous!! Worst experience of food, service wasn't bad but no tables in take away area looked like they had been cleared in days. Will not be returning ever!
