Hartside Cafe

I go here once a fortnight whilst it's open.the food is great it's good value and on a clear day the view of Cumbria, the solway and the lake district is staggering! Absolutely recommended to all

Great ride to get there and views are amazing. Grub good too. Only open at weekends during winter.

Called in on way to penrith really nice bacon sarnie and a hot cuppa and some spectacular veiws on a crisp sunny day .could see for miles .idylic place

Great views and affordable. However, be aware that they tend to shut around 5, and I mean shut: we went to get teas at 4:30 and found they were only doing takeaways at that point. This is just a tip for visitors - I totally understand this - because they're in the middle of nowhere they've probably got a way to drive home!

Good food. Friendly staff. A haven for bikers. Reasonable prices for big portions

Went here doing the coast to coast challenge just what you need a cafe after a hard climb up the hill to it, the only problem was it was closed!!

Excellent roads up to hartside, great atmosphere and excellent cafe when you get there, the lemon drizzle cake is spot on, this place is a must if you own a motorbike and very entertaining in the car too

It's a basic, hardy place. It's been here for a long time, it'll be here for a long time to go. Has a sort of canteens feel to it that doesn't make it cosy, but great for muddy or snowy walkers and on a clear day the views are stunning
