We had lovely evening meal.
We booked and showed to table straight away.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Salad bar ok. Some items needed to be refreshed more often.
Bread rolls burnt but OK.
Overall good quality and cherry pie excellent as usual.
We called in this morning for breakfast , we ordered the all in and expected ( wrongly) it would be help yourself and all under heat lamps ( we went as they opened so food wouldn’t be dry) but our order was taken and all the food was cooked fresh and was amazing ! The staff were attentive and provided excellent customer service !! We will definitely be back
Today we were served great food with a smile by a lovely girl called Lucie. visiting from Durham we didn't expect much from a chain pub but were pleasantly surprised at the quality of food on offer. Well done on the feel good bowl they are absolutely delicious! We'll be back next year when we visit the area again. keep up the good work!
This has become our go to restaurant. We seem to always get Lucie as our server and she is positively lovely. You couldn't ask for better service. Tonight my husband had their birthday 35 special that included steak. As an American whose best friend is a gourmet chef that started in a steakhouse, I have been sorely disappointed in the steaks I've had since living in the UK. However, the steak my husband I got was tender, buttery and positively delicious! I ended up eating over half his steak and almost ordered another just for myself despite having my own plate of food. The steak was hands down the best I've had in the UK bar none. Liam was the chef and he definitely knows how to cook a proper steak.
The service is always good. The staff always friendly and the food is consistent. I would recommend this location to anyone. If Liam is in the kitchen, order the steak! You won't regret it!
The Harvester at Stanley Oaks has never failed to please us! I came up to visit my son this weekend and we ate here (again) last night and then revisited this morning for breakfast before my sons rugby match! The food last night was lovely with my lad having nachos then a full rack of ribs! I had the calamari strips then the triple combo chicken!! All of it was just right and the staff lovely even though busy!
This morning the build your own breakfast was really nice and great value for money!! Love this place as it’s tasty and the quality is reliable! Thanks guys.
Loved our Christmas meal staff worked so hard with a smile on there face's,beautiful food and great atmosphere would definitely book here again for Christmas plus love this place for breakfast and any other time of year great service well done xxxx
It was very nice my husband and I had a lovely starter fantastic chicken meal and the chocolate brownies where to die for a few drinks salad bar always a plus service fab all in all a lovely evening well done have a lovely new year x prices very affordable too x
Excellent food and service last night. ... Had the new menu 16oz Rib-eye Steak , was superb.... Staff were lovely as well.
We popped in after an exhausting day at Chester zoo whilst on a 3 day break in Liverpool.. Not sure of what 2 expect cause we were strangers in the area but very pleasantly surprised the food was good and the service excellent. The only criticism was my husband asked for his steak 2 be medium rare but it was well done and very chewy.. Apart from that all good.
Very disappointed on this occasion, they had no devel sauce to add at the salad bar and none to buy.
The sauce is the reason we like the Harvester, shame the staff who order can't get it right.

As staying at the campsite opposite we tried the harvester and was not disappointed as usual food good staff very friendly would recommend it
Went in as we love the harvester where we live in Portsmouth. Not very inpressed. Salad trays were not very fresh looking, no bread rolls. Hubby ordered the cod, half way through it was undercooked, I had chicken wrap and the chicken was cold. Chips and jacket were okay though. Shame really as we were just passing on our travels around Chester. Staff were OK but seemed very thin on the ground as it did get very busy
Went yesterday 19th October 2017 with 4 friends for lunch to Cheshire Oaks , salad bar was very nice but unfortunately my four friends ordered fish 2 got sent back due to being over cooked couldn't even cut through the breadcrumbs as it just all broke up, the battered fish was all batter and very little fish, very dissapointing meal. However The waitress called Lorraine was very helpful freindly and polite and couldn't do enough for us, she did offer to change the meals 2 of are party had fresh meals brought the other 2 didn't get charged for theres. Very dissapointing will think twice before going back again. Jill Johnston Ellesmere port Cheshire.
Sadly I had the salmon which was over cooked and the jacket potato didn’t taste at all good. My brother had the mixed grill which he enjoyed except the sauce was still frozen. The staff were lovely and we didn’t pay for his meal. But would not recommend it. Sadly
My wife and I both had the Bird, Surf and Turf.my steak was overcooked and therefore dry, my sweet potato fries were burnt almost black, the breadcrumbs that were on the prawns wasn't crispy, the only thing i enjoyed was the chicken. My wife's steak was grisly ,her prawns were the same, she only ate the chicken and fries. We won't be going back anytime soon.
Limited choice of food when we ordered, one order was wrong, one meal was very small in comparison with the other. Meals were brought and left in the table before we finished our salad. We were not asked if we wanted a pud, we had to look for staff to ask for the bill. Needless to say we did not leave a tip
It was cold as the radiators were not working we couldn’t order what we wanted off the menu as they had run out of stuff. I wanted the original combo which was half rack of ribs and 1/4 rotisserie chicken they ran out of rotisserie chicken they didn’t give me an alternative with regards to the chicken. I then order salmon which came with jacket potato and steamed vegetables they’d ran out of jacket potatoes!! All in all it was okish.
Came for breakfast this morning to be turned away as it was bookings only due to breakfast with Santa being on. The waitress who turned us away was very snotty in saying there was a sign on the door stating walk ins were not welcome which is abit of a joke as you have to turn up at the restaurant to find out this information and I must say Santa was of very poor quality and I would not at all pay for my child to have breakfast with a teenager with a beard on. Terrible
Terrible place! Fifty minute wait for food (No explanation). Food arrived stone cold and obviously had been standing! Manager as much use as a chocolate teapot! AVOID!!!! Unless you like cold food and terrible service
