Leisurely summer afternoons - the perfect time for grabbing a great bite and a great deal at Harvester.

Went here tonight for a works do, served by young lad called Nathan, very attentive and friendly, 16 of us came and all was very impressed. Thankyou for making part one of our works do so good.

My other half and I often come to the Harvester as it is local, friendly and we always have a good meal by quality and price. We were seated quickly by our friendly waitress and served well all evening. Our food was just as we wanted and a lovely evening had.

Had a lovely meal, the duty manager made us feel so welcome, so helpful and friendly nothing was to much for her, I'm old fashion it makes it so much nicer to have a person smiling the minute we walked through the doors

Great place, great food and great price. My only gripe is the bread rolls are so much smaller now than they use to be.

Despite the power going out twice it was fine!! Good value meal and cooked brilliantly. Welcoming staff too

Been a number of times in the last few months usually just me and my partner for a treat while kids at dads but last night took my kids too as a last minute decision and all the times we've been we're never disappointed...Lovely staff.... lovely food...salad bar well topped up and fresh

Had a good evening yesterday ,it was my partners birthday ,and we had a good time.

The duty manager who was also the waiter was very friendly.

He also sang happy birthday

The only regret was you ran out of the spit-roast chicken!

Group of 15 for a family meal at lunch. Pre-booked tables but had to wait a little bit to get seated, plus one starter was forgotten, but otherwise very good quality food which came out in excellent time, an attentive waitress, and with a 20% discount coupon the value was fantastic. Would return.

We went to Harvester in Chelmsford last night. Food was pretty much as expected - nice but not amazing. Our beers went missing so we had to chase them up. Staff were friendly and helpful as always. A nice meal, reliably good and reasonably priced.

I went yesterday for a late lunch with a friend. The food, I am surprised to say was actually amazing. The reason for being surprised is that I have actually been avoiding Harvester, Chelmsford following an awful breakfast experience with my family some time ago. Yesterday I enjoyed my salad bar bowl, the roll, albeit ridiculously tiny was soft, but the real winner for me was the oven-baked garlic mushrooms. Our waitress, I'm sorry I didn't get her name but will next time, was lovely. She was friendly, attentive & patient. It will be my birthday on Monday & I had said no to going there for our family birthday meal, but it is now an option again. Keep the food fresh!! Thanks, Tx

Depending who yr waiter or waitress are is what service u get if u lucky n get Gemma or the other muture lady it's gd but couple Yong lads u have are awful. most of time food been gd salad bar needs checking more often as does the the sauces with food goin into other dishes which is not gd if u have food allergy. Will give Harvester another go but if things don't improve I shall not return

Went as a birthday surprise for my mum. Table was booked and told it was a surprise when some of the party arrived... still had to explain when we arrived with mum.... bearly spoiling the surprise. Waiter was quite nervous, took a while to order food never asked if we wanted drinks so went to the bar to order.... and had to go again to get further drinks. Starters arrived quickly, were cleared after a while. Mains arrived not all together, one person bringing 14 meals... out waiter stopped bringing them so another waiter did. Filler steak arrived more blue than the medium rare as it was ordered and was cold... hard to try and tell my partner as grill chef it's cooked correctly.... had to leave the table to get a member of staff to get it sorted. When the meal was returned it was the same plate as it was sent back with (sauces still on the plate) meaning the chips and accompliments were cold. No further check back, until clearing plates. It was still not great but not wanting to spoilt my mums 60th birthday. Harvester you let us down.

Sorry to say that the food was poor yesterday when we visited. Ribs very bland jacket potato hard. Tried to order an omelette and was told none available as they are sent in pre maid?! Don't get how a restaurant doesn't make their omelettes fresh! Service was fine but food not good

Went for Lunch with my husband it was very disappointing my husband had seasoned chicken (I think) but it was Burnt.... they actually thought my husband would eat it ! I told him to send it back...... when it came back again... it was dry and hard I had rotisserie chicken which came with sweet corn the sweet corn was hard and cold !!! very disappointing pity because I always went there with my children and husband and grand children !!! I don't know why the Harvester has gone down hill it never was like it before we always had a lovely meal !!! I am actually shocked I gave it a poor !

Salad bar was empty and filthy. I understand it's the public that make it dirty but a service is being paid for so it's poor food hygiene. Went back to salad bar several times to see if my choice had been replenished but it hadn't. Took forever for waitress to come and take our order. Drinks machine was empty of Pepsi max which was not said to me when I ordered my drink. Cheese and bacon burger tastes soggy. We were never approached to see if our food was ok. Me and my wife have been coming here for over 8 years due to friendly atmosphere, quality food and very reasonable prices. The last few times we've been here it's gradually got worse and worse. We won't be returning. The waitress on this occasion was very friendly but the whole place has gone down hill

Restaurant has gone downhill a lot, myself and a friend visited last night there was no fresh salad, most of the cart was empty, over cooked chicken to the point where it was incredibly dry and the ribs were tough, awful.

I used to enjoy going to harvester but the last few times I have been to the chelmsford one I have been dissapointed. The food is cold and the chefs don't put the right foods on the plates. I suggest you either have further training for your chefs or get new ones!

Harvester tonight was rubbish. Food ropey. Front of house staff very rude & the guy clearly had an attitude problem & was not only rude to me, but to one of my friends in the group too. Clearly no customer service experience at all!!! Not impressed in the slightest. Wouldn't recommend this place at all at the moment.
