We booked on line about two hours before

The service was excellent and the food was very good

Couldn’t really ask for more

User

Very friendly and clean Harvester .. the staff were friendly and attentive too .... went with my hubby and 2 year old grandson and we all enjoyed our food ... good idea to have a separate family area that everyone can feel comfortable in 😊X

User

I enjoyed my visit to your Harvester I come back regularly with my grandparents and family. Carol was doing her best even though it was busy and nothing was too much trouble she took our orders and food was nicely presented and I would be visiting again soon.

User

First time eating here, we booked on the day of new years eve not an issue, when we got there it wasn't overally busy, we was served by a lovely lady called Julie, very helpful we will be going back here again soon thank you for a lovely meal.

User

I have been 3 times recently and enjoyed the food and the service. Our waitress last night was very attentive . However, I believe I left my little gold diary in the bar area last night and tried to ring up several times today to see if it had been handed in..I left a message with regard to this on the answer phone 8 hours ago..still had no reply. Left my phone number but still had no reply. Frustrating as I don't want to come in personally if it's not been found. Please reply.

User

Had a lovely mothers day meal yesterday and the service from Adam was amazing. Having not been to this harvester for about 5 years due to bad service and food last time we were very pleased and will be back again soon.

User

I have to say our trip to the Harvester was a very pleasant one after the initial greeting from a sourpuss manager who greeted us at the door... I did think oh god here we go....

But we had a waitress called Dot who was amazing, she was totally rushed off her feet at times but always had a smile, a chat and checked to see we were OK a few times, a true star and she deserves more money than the manager for her customer service, well done Dot and thank you for making our evening lovely 😘

User

Visited with my brother on saturday afternoon, it wasn't particularly busy...but it took the waitress along time to take our order as she was more interested in talking to...what I can only assume were regular customers.......our food wasn't great as the pulled pork burrito wrap was stuck to the paper underneath and it was 99% rice 1% pulled pork!!!! Safe to say I didn't leave a tip and I will be going back to the Cooper Dean instead as they certainly provide a 5* service

User

The extractor fans were not working which wasn't there fault I know but my eyes were so sore ! Forgot several things off my friends breakfast order .but did rectify it .asked for Bill told someone would come in 5 minutes to take our money 15 later. Still nobody, so had to go and try and find someone to pay .ran out of cups for coffee ,milk, only crusts of bread left not being replenished enough the self service items .was very caotic don't think I will be back especially as my bacon and sausage was burnt and it's not cheap .

User

Not actually eaten there yet been trying to call to book a table for 2 hours and no answer !! I would think it would be quite important to keep business going to answer phone calls!!

User

Fatty meat. Then to be told that's normal. Erm no it's not. When you pay ÂŁ15 plus for a steak you don't expect that. Pay less from the market meat man and it's better. Fair meal. Friendly server. Shame about the quality of the meat.

User

Wasn’t impressed there were no plates for breakfast, hour wait for food, no mugs, no coffee, everyone complaining at state of place! Won’t be going back there for Father’s Day again. Kids were getting impatient, staff kept saying cups were in dishwasher?? We booked so why the long wait?? Shame. Took me half hour to get a coffee!!! wanted to leave but thought we would give benefit of doubt... however should have just gone home and cooked myself

User

Walked into the Harvester at 11.45 which was like a cardinal sin their eyes. Stood by the sign that says “wait here to be seated” what seemed like an eternity passed before we actually got any acknowledgement from the staff. There was another family stood with us who left because there seemed to be no interest in customers coming into restaurant although it did seem like staff were having a good time having a general chin wag by the bar. When I eventually walked over to ask if there was anyone working front of house I was told they were still dealing with the breakfast set up and me and my family would have to wait in the bar area ... 20 mins later we are finally seated and was all rushed and and the overall service was poor, I wasn’t expecting anything amazing but a simple hello and general acknowledgement for a paying customer would have been nice, should go back to basics.

Terrible service!! 1* is being generous!

My friend and I decided to treat ourselves and our children this afternoon.

It took a long time to be served even though it wasn't busy at all, quietest I've seen it.

My friend asked for a medium/rare steak, what came out was very very well done steak. The waitress took it back but it took so long for her meal to come back through that by the time the children and I had practically finished ours.

The waitress didn't even come back to check it was okay.

The wait between us finishing our meals and the children receiving desert took at least 25mins by now the kids were pretty bored. We had to chase our waitress who told us we were getting a different waitress who was actually sat down with customers having a chat at a table.

We asked for the desert menus and ordered, though my daughter can't have ice cream so asked what the alternatives were and 3 of them were sold out, so what came out was a bowl of fruit which quite frankly looked disgusting and my daughter didn't eat it.

In the middle of all of this I asked to speak to the manager, he offered to discount our bill which we accepted. We then waited another 25 mins for our waitress to come by so we could ask for the bill, to which we found her leant across in the staff room again having a sociable chat. She came over and walked off even though we were ready to pay.

In the end my friend and I went to find the manager again, and quite frankly disgusted by his lack of understanding and customer care.

We are busy mums wanting a treat and actually it was hard work, when we said the waitress was sat down with customers chatting, he said that we like to look after our regulars and I said why about new/returning customers?

We won't ever be returning and upon leaving I paid ÂŁ20 as I felt this reflected the stressful few hours we had endured. From now on I'll be going to Bournemouth Harvester.

Alder Hills manager and Staff need re-training. Pronto!

Probably the rudest staff in the entire world have never came across it, booked a table for 4 people at 7.15 ( as rudely always demanded if we've booked beforehand) we arrived at 7.10 with one extra person due to him just coming with us last minute on arrival. We apologised as we spoke to them, for the most rude and disgusting woman called Julie I believe. to then argue with us saying you should of let us know, don't think we can let you in, we explained we didn't know earlier and how we come here every week she shrugged and said don't know what your table you're on and how we can't come in. We then eventually got walked to our table which was laid for a table of six !!!!!?????How can you turn away an extra customer ? Only thing that made this OK was adam who served was lovely.

Need a serious reality check this is meant to be a local family restaurant not the bloody ritz. Your staff need training and sorting out on how to be friendly to the general public, serious attitude problems. Will never Step in the place again and please save your money and go else where they are not worth a penny.

User

Ok so just called to try and book my sons birthday lunch for 18 people and i was told they can not book more than 10 people !!! I even asked for 2 tables seperate and they said no .What a total joke . Turning away buisness !!! Wont be going back .

User

Manager here does not like 'walk ins', always very abrupt greeting. Asked a question about using a voucher and got a very abrupt reply. After about 45min wait for food, All 3 meals went back, one wasn't the right order, one cold and one not cooked properly. Meals were edible but not 'nice'. Waitress was very nice about situation and took the price of one meal off.

User

Just had theme worse meal ever and service was no better will not be going back again

I went to this pub/restaurant with my son and partner. There was a party sitting at the next table to ours. Unfortunately there were children, one a teenager and three younger children, who were running along the bench seat and shouting and shrieking. The parents should have told the children to behave but they didn't. As the parents did nothing, the staff should have said something as we weren't the only family who were having their evening meal ruined. When I asked the waiter why he or a member of the management hadn't said anything I was told that they wouldn't say anything as there was no breach of health and safety. Both my partner and I were shocked by this.

Another negative point about this place is that it is the only Harvester which will not take bookings by phone.

Regarding the staff, they are at best mediocre. One waitress thinks she runs the bookings and seating and has on more than one occasion caused an argument with the guy who's job it is to sort the bookings and seating in front of me.

Unless this place bucks it's ideas up I won't be going back there too much more, if at all.
