Cheat day today surely!!!!

We’ve come here a few times now. After we’ve had a family day at Colchester zoo. Each time we have come we have been amazed at how quickly the food has taken, and how friendly all your employees are. Fantastic place.

Went for breakfast with my family on the 2nd. Dec as it was my daughters 6th birthday I called before hand and asked if they could put some balloons on the table for when we arrived. When we arrived they had put up a lovely arrangement of balloons on the table we were greeted with a smile and they made my daughter feel very special throughout the whole experience, exceptional service couldn’t have gone better and she left with a huge smile on her face, thank you so much 5*****

We had a lovely meal here tonight for my son's 6th birthday. We all had delicious meals and our waitress Vienna went the extra mile and brought my boys dessert out with a candle to sing happy birthday. We have been here so many times and we always have good food and service. Hence why when asked where he wanted his birthday tea here.

Good choice of vegetarian food. lovely helpful waitress who found out ingredients as cant eat certain products. Food delicious. Ticks all boxes for us as a family with different food requirements. Couldn’t fault anything.

Excellent service even on a very hot muggy day.

Ordered the ultimate burger. Stupidly filled up on the free salad bar, the meal was/seemed enormous, (not complaining tho).

Very quick service from order to delivery. Then paying was very quick.

Very highly recommend this place for a good reasonably priced family/couples meal.

Excellent service and excellent food. Could not fault this restaurant and compared to some Harvesters near us, this one is by far the best. Great service from our waitress who said she has been here 11 years!

Went to the harvester tonight after viewing the menu on line on arriving I didn’t bother looking at the menu again as there where only 4 veggie meals on the menu , I ordered jambalaya which I’ve had at other harvesters and was very disappointed not only have the corn fritters been changed to mozzarella balls ( Italian on a Cajun dish ) but the crispy fries beans are no more � saying that the salad bar was nice and my folks meal were lovely , also I must point out the staff are fantastic and the manager was lovely would definitely go here again but have something else for the menu

We went as a party of seven, the waitress was very helpful and friendly, we all enjoyed our meals, apart from my husbands steak, we mentioned it to the waitress and she was willing to replace but my husband was already full up and we declined it. We had a lovely time and would definitely go again.

Thank you for a lovely evening, good food, friendly service, especially to the d.m and our waitress Vienna. The main meals were nicely cooked and well presented followed by scrumptious desserts.

We ordered our food and was told to go and help ourselves to the salad bar. We went up straight away and as soon as we sat down with our salad our main meal came out, we hadn’t even started eating. The waitress was going to leave our mains with us and I asked if they could give us a few minutes to eat our salad, and could they keep the food hot for us. And although the waitress did eventually, she looked horrified and said she didn’t know if they would. We wasn’t the only people that complained about this.

The food and service we received today was good, however the cleanliness of the dishes left a lot to be desired. When we went to get our salad, every single bowl that had been put out for use was dirty, wet and clearly not useable. I had to ask for clean bowls, which were quickly supplied, but we're hot, so our sale was also warm and limp as a result. Not what I usualy expect from this establishment.

Went to meet with some friends in the Colchester branch...never normally had an issue however on this occasion was pretty dire. One of friends had a 'simply chicken' meal....which cost almost £9. When it came out I was shocked. Two bits of broccoli. One tiny piece of chicken. You'd get more in weatherspoons! Spoke to the manager Ryan and his attitude was awful. Rude, blasè about it, leaned on a post and came across he didn't care and didn't offer anything...not even a free drink....all he said was....'well we are quite competitive and you do get salad' One of the other waitresses Lousie was lovely. So wonderful and came back a couple of mins later and said she's persuaded him to take it off the bill. He shouldn't have been 'persuaded' he should have done or said something to calm the situation rather than escalate it. Having been a manager I know a manager should always find a solution rather than leave it to the customer. Awful. Not impressed and not surprised the restaurant is empty

My wife and I went to the bar asked for a whisky and lemonade I expect the whisky to be pour first into the glass over the ice then the lemonade but the lemonade was pour first we want into the restaurant the starting was good but steak was awful very tough and then looking forward to a sweet no merenque they had run out what a to run a restaurant

Where do I start... there was 10 of us celebrating a child’s birthday, when we got there we were told to wait for the table even tho it was sitting there ready and waiting, in the end we got fed up an just sat down anyway, we then got asked what we wanted which was fine but when the food come out the chips were awful like they had been cooked and then sat there for 20 mins, the ribs were ok but hardly any bbq sauce, we all got served our food except my mother an after 10 mins a waiter comes out an says sorry the chef dropped it on the floor we will cook you another one... baring in mind this is a steak.. 20 mins later still no steak!! How long does it take to cook a steak.... when she did finally get it it was like a leathery old boot So in the end she didn’t eat most of it, they did say sorry we can offer you a free dessert baring in mind the steak was £18 I wouldn’t pay 80p for it! Then when we had all finished the plates were left for another half hr nobody came to see if we were ok or asked any of us if we wanted desserts so in the end after TWO HOURS we decided to leave an left the others there, I think my mum did get her dessert in the end but we couldn’t wait any longer! Overall I’m shocked at the service and will not be returning!

We got a takeaway from this harvester this evening and I’m frankly disgusted. My daughter’s risotto came in a microwave pot and it was clearly just a frozen meal which was watery.



My husband ordered a burger which was clearly frozen, like eating cardboard. It wasn’t juicy, the pulled pork was sloppy and the slice of tomato was just tomato skin. His chips were also raw.



My chicken burger was topped with wilted lettuce, only a tiny amount of bbq sauce which was soaked into the bread so you couldn’t taste it. My sweet potato chips were also raw.



We spent over £20 on this meal and we haven’t eaten most of it because it’s inedible.



Very disappointed.

Regular coke is no longer available from the dispensers and you only sell it in glass bottles, obvious rip off. The prices are too high for pub food anyway. Will never return.

Not impressed, although very busy the tables were dirty. Waiter didn’t ask everybody what drink they required prior to plonking 2 refill glasses on the table. There were 8 of us. Food was ok not great, catering for the masses rather than quality. Steak was very fatty. Adult deserts came out before the kids and had almost melted prior to the youngest getting theirs. Won’t be returning.

I just watched a chef pick his nose and continue cooking. Safe to say we didn’t even bother ordering food in the end and the place is a total tip the garden (which is at the entrance) is a total mess which represents the place badly... off to get dinner elsewhere

Found a packaging ticket inside my served meal, very disappointed, from the rice that was served to me! Whole new meal was then served, but alas was rushed. No offer of compensation till we forced the issue. Unhappy.
