I love the harvester been coming to this branch for years!! What can u get for under a

Tenner a head not much the salad bar sometimes needs to be refilled quicker but Benfleet staff especially Tracy are lovely 😊

We arrived after lunch time about 2 pm and was seated and served straight away. The only criticism was that the cheesy garlic bread was too soft and we couldn't taste garlic . We were also overcharged on our bill but the waitress soon rectified it. Overall it was very pleasant. Salad bar was well stocked too !

Had a nice lunch there today - waiting staff were great & the food was lovely but the chef troubled me - we were seated right by the kitchen & it was uncomfortable. Listening & watching the chef abuse another member of the kitchen staff & shouting "if you don't like it, go and get another f***ING job".... Don't really want to hear that when paying for the food he is cooking. Open kitchens in full view aren't always the best idea, certainly when you've got someone like that in there.

We went on Sunday for my father's 86th birthday. We had previously booked a disabled table on the phone a few days before. However when we got there our booking could not be found and we were escorted to a booth which was difficult for my dad. My dad was quite abrupt with one of the staff and this was handled very well (one positive). We were seen to quite quickly with a new member of staff and a manager, and we did not wait long for our food which was hot and tasted very nice. After that point we sat and waited for atleast half an hour possibly 45 minutes for our plates to be cleared and to be offered the dessert menu.. our plates were cleared but we did not see a dessert menu and decided to leave. Before leaving I visited the bathroom and it was disgusting, it smelt horrendous and was filthy. Infact the whole restaurant was filthy dirty and in my opinion is far less than a hygiene rating 4 which they probably just got on a good day!

We went here for breakfast Monday morning, we stood for ages waiting to be seated and there was hardly anybody in there , I had to walk around the restaurant to try and find someone to ask if we can just sit down? When I eventually found someone they said "oh no we will seat you" !!! So finally seated we was told our waitress would be over to take out order...... 15 - 20 mins later I thought I'd better go and find this so called waitress and when I asked for someone to come and take my order she told me to wait as they was busy!!! There was 3 tables with people on them! How is that busy! Was finally served , we thought we better get some toast .... surprise suprise no bread out, then no butter and when we asked for butter the waitress just pointed over towards where it was kept. So I explained to her there wasn't any !!! She then tutted and walked off to get some , then waited another 30mins for our food. Chips over cooked sausage undercooked and basically disgusting! Eggs where runny and I dnt mean the yoke.

Very disappointed and definitely not worth the money or time spent there.

Very dissapointed ordered chicken chips gravy and coleslaw but didn't have coleslaw so asked waitress she said oh we havnt got any use the one at the salad bar? Could they not have used that? No it's Asian and they not allowed to use the salad bars coleslaw, could have told us that at the beginning we could have had a different meal.

Usually ok however this time it was the meal from hell. First - they confused the drinks order. Second - they dropped the food on the floor from one of the main meals. Third - don't expect ice cream as the machine was broke. Fourth - clean cutlery would be nice. Fifth - listening to staff moaning about having to work. And finally my favourite, Six - The gents toilets covered in piss and cubicles full of unflushed shit. To say Torvill and Dean would struggle to stand up in there proberbly was close to the truth.

Shall not be revisiting unless I hear it's improved but gut feeling was the place was run by badly trained staff.

Had high hopes for my birthday lunch but walked in to an absolutely overwhelming smell of toilets which seems to pervade everything. Shown to our table and slip-slid all the way across the tiled floor despite wearing rubber soled shoes! Sat down to be told no jackets or fish, no problem ordered a burger to be told none of those either! Asked for chicken option instead. Just made the decision to take my young son to the toilet as food arrived and by the time I got back it was stone cold. Service slow and being presented with the bill whilst in the middle of dessert just added insult to injury. Think I'd have had a better meal from a fast food joint!

Got our table at 7.30 no food till 8.20 when it came up my jacket potatoe was black the potatoe was brown inside when I asked the waitress if she thought it looked nice she said do you want me to see if there's a better one which was off putting ended up having chips which looked like the end of night scrappings don't think im.going back to the tarpots in the near future x

Black burnt breaded chicken burger wasn't even edible the price was over £10 for the meal waist of money feel ripped of would have rather gone to mc Donald's , service was good , was for my nieces birthday just feel so let down

Got one dinner wrong forgot another dinner. And another dinner was burnt.

Wish I could give -⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service from Harry was so bad will never eat at this place again. Had to wait 20 mins before we ordered are food I was totally blanked by the server even when I tried to order only spoke to my partner. Was made to feel like the silly little woman out with my man not happy at all

Waited for twenty minutes and wasn’t even acknowledged to be seated. I could understand if it was busy but it wasn’t!

Very poor!

Took my son today (18th April) for lunch. And my son wanted a chocolate milk shake as he poured it into a glass I noticed it was 4 days out of date, so I took it to the waitress. She said sorry and asked if I wanted another one so I said yes, as I went back to my table, few minutes later the waitress returned and said all the milkshakes were out of date. I did get money off my bill. And also don't think the food was 100% like it was reheated won't go there again.

Terrible is the only way to describe it. Out of the 5 meals ordered 4 were just slightly above cold, my son's and mine steak and eggs were not medium rare as ordered but cooked way beyond well done and the eggs were so over cooked they looked like plastic joke fried eggs. We were offered a replacement but seeing as the 'chef' had already been given the chance to get the order correct and failed miserably and the length of time we had already waited for it to turn up I declined. Will not be going back and will not be recommending it.

Poor service poor staff, saw our starters up on the heater for a good half hour before we was given it WITH OUR MAINS because wiatress didn't bother to bring it. Also witnessed tables not having orders taken and food left on heater for chefs to yell three times for service which in the end resulted in them having to come out and ask them face to face to hand out food.

All the waitresses and what I presume manager were doing was chatting by the bar and it was not work related!

Used to be my favourite harvester now just gone down the drain.

Poor show tarpots, need completely new waitressing staff and manager in my opinion

Left a review on tripadvisor, but only got back the usual 'thank you for your feedback'. In other words, we cannot be bothered to actually act on anything you say. My major complaint was the pathetic ribs that I received, about three tiny ones which was advertised as half a rack. They must think you are stupid. Used to work in harvester kitchens when I were younger so know exactly what a true rack of ribs look like. Will add photos wherever I can on the difference. Also price of coke, bearing in mind you are watching the clock on the parking, is it worth paying £2.75 when you only have time for one - no! No-one asked if our meal was okay, and sure they didn't give a hoot either way.

Just took my daughter for lunch, we ordered and I ordered the fish and chip but said please no peas as I really don't even like the look of them. When our meal came my plate had peas so I asked if they could be taken off, she took the plate away saying no problem, after 35 minutes and my daughter having finished her meal mine still wasn't back. Told the waitress that I was very unhappy with the situation and that I didn't want my meal now to just give me the bill, she brought the bill back and i said I wasn't happy about paying the whole bill as the service I received was so bad, sitting there over 7 months pregnant I had to wait on the manager to come to discuss it. About 10 minutes later I see the manager cleaning a table, I approached her saying I needed to talk to her and she didn't even know I was waiting to see her. After another 10 minutes she came over and was so rude, I said I wasn't happy about paying for a meal I had to watch being eaten and still didn't get my meal, her response was shocking saying "it still got ate didn't it" she then said she would take the drinks off the bill but her whole attitude was ridiculous. I will never eat there again and feel so let down by the service that we have received.

I went to Tarpots harvester today with my elderlymum,cousins and elderly aunt,we was told by the waitress the coffees had been paid for on our bill and we can have a free refill on coffee,when we was outside to go home the manager and one of the waitresses came out after us to say we hadn't paid for the extra coffees! I explained we had paid for them as we were told the refills were free after but they both said we had to pay! What an insult! Our bill was over £100 and yet they came out and told us we didn't pay for 2 cold cups of coffee! Disgusting I thought my mum is 87 yrs old they made us stand outside waiting to show us our bill! What a joke! ��
