Smooth transition into ferry disabled people get priority access to the lift most accessible to cabin and lounge good facilities in the cabin easy access to breakfast which was of an excellent standard easy exit from ferry

The coffee machine just before check in gave me the most impressively awful hot chocolate I've ever seen. I needed something for my wife after listening to the baby cry for an hour in the car. This hot chocolate was not it. I was charged premium prices for the privilege of having my hot chocolate horizons broadened. Not in a good way.

A good night's sleep, on their trailer park, is now £12.75 if you haven't dropped a trailer and are waiting for one off the overnight boat.

Don't try exiting if a boat has just arrived. I got tangled up in 250 self-drive trucks!

Great interchange between train and ship. As Jerry broken passengers being driven into the ship by bus. Which is great for people with walking difficulties.

User

Quieter than most ports I have used but I was a walking passenger in the evening, everything was closed, but very clean and tidy with a speedy transfer onto the ship.

The railroad was under construction so we had to wait for replacement bus for direct transportation to London Liverpool station. It's a small station and simple. Nothing fancy.

Often have to use this port though not through choose
It can some times take you Two hours to get past the exit gate if you are fright.
There system need A big review.
Two hours crawling to the gate eats up your driving time and puts you in the rush hour traffic to London.
Come on Harwich port SORT IT OUT.

The plus side: a great jumping off point for the Ferry to Netherlands. Beautiful River Stour estuary & surroundings.
On the downside: Access roads are lousy. The whole port looks dilapidated. Customs processing capacity is barely adequate.

User

Easy to reach from London Liverpool Street train station. Efficient check in for the ferry to Holland. However, the walkway onto the ferry has been out of action for at least 3 years... I am losing faith that it will ever be restored.

A retired Light Vessel # 18 in the port attracts deserved attention, a little further down the Trinity House Lightvessel No. 20 comes into view

As foot passengers we had to wait for an hour on the ship after arrival to be put on a bus to be taken the 25 metres (!) to the ferry terminal.

A queue then formed at passport control because two passport officers were on duty. A further two, a supervisor and a welcoming person, stood around. We were directed to a passport officer who then called out to all passengers with a lengthy announcement about how most people were in the wrong queues. We waited patiently. Then we had to wait why he explained to us why the system is different in America. We had shown him our British passports and eventually were allowed to go.

In the main area, the food was of very low quality, there was no water fountain, and we paid almost £5 for two small bottles of Orange Tango. The station was filthy too, with just three benches.

Welcome to the UK, really not the way to make a good impression. There are a few things that could be done.

1. Let people walk to the terminal, as they do in almost every other country.
2. Have enough passport officers for foot passengers, since considerably more than two are clearly on duty for vehicles.
3. The station could do with some benches and a mop/bottle of bleach.

Best way to travel to the Netherlands - reasonably priced, and travel overnight for a relaxed way to get a extra day at the start and end if any short break

Fantastic ships, modern, great food and sitting places. Nice shops and really nice cabins. From Hook of Holland just a little to short, because you have to get up really early. But a big 5 stars!!!
