With three part of the town old blending well into the new, love watch the fishing-men bring their catch , jack in the green in may , fire works in October the caves and castle , very busy town with it's own energy and some of the best fish and chip's in the south

Hastings is my home town, it was good to be back and explore it with my Fiancee. With Battle a few mile North, it is steeped in history of 1066. The traditional Old Town with its fishing fleet and Net Huts is a very unique sight to Hastings. The re-built pier is fantastic too. A little to tacky in places with too many amusements and has its fair share of empty shops, but generally the town centre is a decent shopping area.

Hastings has a lot to offer for everyone. Of course if the sun is out you have the beach but I love Hastings old town and buildings. The back streets and passages are amazing. Great traditional British shops, cafes and pubs. Jack the Green parade on Mayday and on the same day Bike1066 where bikers come from all over to talk bikes. Triumphs, BSA, Harleys etc. Can be busy on Mayday and a little noisy.
