Hathersage Skate Park Description
Ok folks. . . Our embargo is now lifted and we are able to share our exciting news:
As you may be aware, a skate park for Hathersage has been a dream for many people for many years. Lots of people have worked tirelessly towards the facility so far and many have been spurred on by the tragic premature death of one of the skatepark's strongest supporters last summer.
A project like this needs money and the magnificent £25, 000 raised so far will go a long way. However, the target of £75, 000 seems a long way off with a further £50, 000 needed. Obviously there are still a few final 'I's to be dotted and 't's to be crossed. We are committed to fulfilling all of the requirements.
The wonderful news is that by the end of November we could reach our fund-raising target as we have been selected as finalists for the National Lottery's 'People's Millions' campaign. On November 26th Hathersage Skate Park will go head to head with another organisation on ITV for the people's vote. The winning campaign gets the money!
We need as many telephone votes on the night as possible and we need to work hard to generate publicity and interest in the project. We will be putting out a press release, sharing on Facebook and speaking on the radio amongst other methods of promotion.
We need YOU to help us to spread the message. Please ask all of your friends, and their friends to support us. Further information will be posted shortly.
If we win the vote, the skate park group will have enough money for the facility to be completed.
