Hatton Cross Station

Other than a good place to switch trains going into Heathrow for the different terminals, it is also a major hub for buses. Located within the Heathrow FreeFlow Fare Zone, it is very easy to hop on and off buses to go to and from the different Airport terminals and further into London. There is one small (yet overpriced) shop above ground by the station entrance just to keep people happy.

Underground station isn't step free so not suitable for wheel chairs. There are 33 steps to get from ground level to platform & vice versa. Buses stop at ground level. No toilets. Small shop at ground level, seats & covered area at ground level for when it rains. Trains to central London via Hounslow average every 7 mins. In rush hour u can usually get a seat going into central london

Underground station best described as a hub on the edge of Heathrow Airport. The vast majority of people using this station will probably be merely interchanging between the branches of the Piccadilly line going to the different terminals (although for some obscure reason the on train announcements tell you to do this at Hounslow West...) which you do below ground (you literally wait on the same platform). If you venture above ground then you will find very little - the nearest town is about a mile away and it's mainly used to connect nearby towns to the Underground or as a local bus interchange. There are also very few facilities in the station itself - for example no toilets and no lifts.

Piccadilly line doesn't accept into the Heathrow free travel zone here unlike the buses and also lacks step free access which is not good enough here. Bus stop layout here has been changed in an attempt to relieve congestion but hasn't worked well in my eyes.

The best route to return to Egham from London at midnight is a tube to Hatton Cross, and uber thereafter.
