We loved it! (no18) just arrived back today and we didn’t want to leave. The staff were really kind and helpful on arrival. The staff in the fitness were friendly as were the cleaning staff around the site - overall a brilliant time was had by all. We were a family of 5 - ages from 7 to 74 and we visited all the last cal places too.

We have just got back from a small break away Fri-Mon (had to come back on Sunday due to work) and had a lovely time. The swimming pool was great for the kids and the lodge was very well equipped and clean. The hot tub made the holiday! Will be booking again next year.

We arrived yesterday, and admittedly the weather always helps this type of holiday, but so far it’s fantastic!! I cannot think of one bad thing or negative comment. We are in a 2 bed lodge with a hot tub (Deerpark) and we have an en suite AND a dressing room. The park is totally dog friendly and we could even take our Pippin into the restaurant (ground floor) so she didn’t have to be left outside in the heat. The swimming pools are fabulous and the gym is incredible. The meal in the restaurant we had last night was reasonably priced and well cooked. The staff are friendly and the accommodation was spotlessly clean. We shall definitely be back. This is the best UK holiday I’ve ever had!

We are coming to the end of our first stay at Finlake. We are extremely impressed with the whole site. We stayed in a new lodge which was immaculate. Very spacious, modern and superb quality.

The park itself is maintained brilliantly. The gym is super modern and the kids have thoroughly enjoyed the pool.

Definitely returning, but after reading reviews about older accommodation I would ensure we had the newer lodge again. Fairways lodge no. 59.

This place is amazing! We absolutely love it here! The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble! In fact we love it here so much we’ve booked for our second holiday this year which will take place in September and are all booked again for next May! Extremely doggie friendly and this is our happy place! Thankyou for yet again another memorable holiday and we are so excited to be back with you in a few weeks �

Our Canadian family of four stayed in a large woodland deluxe cabin and loved it. It was spacious, and seemed recently renovated. The gym was amazing I got a good workout in everyday as well as a lane swim in the pool. Our teens enjoyed the water slides. We only used them when we came back after exploring (and Finlake is a great location for this), they likely wouldn’t be enough for a full days teen entertainment. Didn’t use the riding facilities, but as horse people we were super happy to see that the horses were in great condition and it looked a very well run riding school. All the staff we engaged with were super helpful, polite and friendly. Only regret is that we didn’t spend enough time there. Highly recommended.

Just on our way back and we absolutely loved it and will be returning next year. Thank you for a great holiday.��

Amazing place, accomodation was fantastic, we had sauna and hot tub lodge 43L , fab views, back down to earth with a bump as we came home today.

Lots to do for little one's not so much for teens and older. We visited many places nearby, most require booking in advance.

Would do definitely go again �

Absolutely brilliant stay this month! The holiday home we had was spotless and really modern, with a king bed and an ensuite! Perfect! The pool facilities were second to none, we went swimming every day and fully enjoyed it. The site itself is beautiful, loads of lovely places to walk the dog! Thanks for a great time away. We will no doubt return again.

We stayed in a Country Lodge without a hot tub as none were available when we booked. First thoughts of park was WOW, so clean and looked well maintained. The lodge on first inspection looked clean also. However, it hadn't been cleaned properly as still food under one of the beds and lots of cobwebs on the ceiling.



We had to report a leak that was coming through the roof in the kitchen which was eventually sorted by the time we left after reporting it the 2nd day we were there (we stayed a week). We had no baking tray or anything to cook on, however, after a call to reception we got it delivered that afternoon.



We also had tp call housekeeping for some more bedding and again we had it the same day.



The customer service was good in what we experienced, the lodge was more 3* so would definitely book early for an upgrade next year. We didn't eat in the restaurant so can't comment.



The leisure facilities were good, my 6yo loved the pools and the few activities that he did. The gym was great and staff friendly and helpful.



We will be back but would upgrade. But all in all I don't feel it was a 5* holiday.

Was very impressed, the staff were very friendly & helpful at reception. Lovely and clean grounds. We stayed in the country lodge six vip and was well pleased. Definitely booking to come back again.

Nice park, handy for many of Devon's attractions. Both pools are good, slides slightly tame for my two and I would never pay the amount they charge to get in! Gym is well equipped and was never busy. Shop is really just for treats, no milk at 4pm today for example! Go active good value but a bit disorganised (never met archery people at archery meeting point for example!!). Would recommend for a quiet base.

It was great stay... The fitness gym & the pool for kids is fantastic.... The lodge was very clean, well equipped & spacious.... The hot tub was amazing, clean...the only thing that I was not very happy about was the WiFi speed ( even after I got the plus account). I think they need to improve that... Apart from that great place to go with family.

We have just got back from our christmas holiday at Finlake. Our lodge was clean, cozy and well equipped. Unfortunately our tele didnt work properly so complained 3 times on xmas eve to reception about it (wanting it to be fixed for xmas day) but no one came out to have a look. So went up to reception xmas morning but it was all shut up for christmas so phoned the maintenance number on the door and someone came out within 10 minutes but could not fix the tele as he said he needed a part from a shop which was obviously closed on xmas day (had they come out when i first complained at 10.30am on xmas eve maybe it could have been fixed) then they came out on boxing day and again couldn't fix it and tried another tele but still the same problem. We were leaving the following day so our whole holiday we couldn't relax in front of the tele to watch xmas films etc and having 2 small children who wanted to watch films were a bit disappointed. I think I'm more annoyed i was ignored 3 times by reception. Also we had a power cut for 2 hrs on xmas eve right in the middle of cooking dinner! And then the kettle blew up! But apart from all that we had an ok holiday! Swimming pool was clean but quite cold, restaurant was ok but not much choice on the menu and the food was very minimal on the plate. Finlake grounds are very nice and well kept. On checking out the lady said she will look into our complaint and get back to us within a couple of days, not sure wether to hold my breath or not?

Park well looked after lodge nice and clean..stopped in country lodge four vip platinum...but how do you know what your getting as many on park looked far better...i was charged 705 but according to holiday brochure low season in 589 and high season 899 so where did they magic the figure up of 705..

When we first arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady (can't remember name) she was very helpful, when we first entered our cabin first thoughts were it looked nice, however the sofa must be years old there no no life in it, the log cabin was freezing cold, I have a baby so this wasn't ideal, it only started to feel slightly warm 4 hours after arrival, our hot tub didn't work at all!! We paid extra for this so we weren't best pleased, next problem was we were looking for cutlery and came across wooden spoons chewed up by an animal, this small animal had left its droppings in the draw next to the cutlery, by this point I was fuming!!! The reception was closed so I rang the security guard, I wasn't happy what so ever. My little girl was in bed and it had only just warmed up so I wasn't prepared to move cabins.

The next day we had a huge apology from the manager who gave us £40 worth of vouchers to spend on site i.e. Restaurant, my food was dry!!!!!! Anyway!! We got upgraded to a VIP 6* cabin, first thoughts, beautiful and CLEAN unlike the last one and the Hot tub worked, it was a lot warmer too! Anyway, my 15 month old daughter was playing with a small bag that she found, this bag contained DRUGS that's right drugs, weed to be exact. I was absolutely raging!!! The cleaners obviously didn't check the lodge properly. What if she ate it?????!! Who knows what state she would have been in.

The reception just apologised and said "oh we've had this 3/4 times this week other cabins" like it was normal? This is not right, it's absolutely disgusting!!!

I decided to go to the shop; I couldn't even enter the shop because the door was that narrow I couldn't get my pram through it so I had to load my car up and go into m&s 30 minutes away just to get food for us, I wasn't prepared to leave my daughter in the cold to get a few groceries.

The "fun zone" load of crap!! Tiny room with age 18+ gambling games nothing for children other than a tiny park and a swimming pool I couldn't even bare to think of entering.

I am absolutely appalled and I won't be returning to Finlake.

I have a good mind to report them and even write to the papers. I spent money on a weekend I was looking forward to, to then be disappointed by a sh*t hole.



Thanks but no thanks!!

We went several years in a row but two weeks before our holiday this year we were notified that the owner wanted to stay the same week we were visiting. Our booking was made 4 months before our planned arrival and at no point were we told of any issue.



We have been left trying to find suitable holiday accommodation for a 5 person party, two of which have severe physical and mental disabilities, and two who are pensioners.



There doesn’t seem to be any protection for customers and we were told that people have, in the past, been told on the day of their travel that the owner of their accommodation has cancelled.



Completely unacceptable.

So out of frustration I am posting on here and awarding a 1 * , the park in fairness is well maintained, the facilities are as expected and advertised, BUT when things go wrong the customer service is appalling, I have been waiting over a month for Rachel Cross to call me back to address my complaint after I was promised a resolution within 7 days (4thJan) I’ve called 3 times during January and she is never available and doesn’t call back. So this week I called and ask to speak to Rachel’s boss Amanda Dunn, who obviously manages by example and never called back either. So if you are considering a holiday at Finlake I hope it goes well because if it doesn’t you will be ignored. Finlake if you are reading this check out the notes attached to my booking, ask your receptionist how many times she has had to apologise for your incompetence and call me to arrange the compensation you promised. Rest assured if you don’t call I will keep posting and calling so your potential future customers are aware of how you treat your customers.
