I'd have given it 0 stars if possible! This was the view from my 'standard' room (as opposed to the 'budget' room - I hate to think what they're like!). Impossible to sleep with the loud noise of machinery thundering away all night. Sea view area of restaurant closed at breakfast time. Excessive £10 charge to park car overnight.

Hotel was found to be dated and tired with worn out carpets taped together in places. Reception was small leading to large queues. Upon collection of our room key we were then made to wait outside the room as the cleaners finished off. 20 minutes later the team leader walked into the room without knocking and with no apology began checking the room. When I approached the team leader and said this is poor, a real lack of communication for a 4 star hotel between staff and Reception his reply is "Why" The fact that prior to him bursting in my wife was about to change to use the spar.
The Spar would be best described as having the ambience of a public bath. Lockers that can't be locked to secure kit, dirty towels on the floor and showers that looked like they needed a deep clean.
The room was found to be in a similar state to the rest of the hotel, dated.
Note to hotel: Two single beds pushed together does not make a double, what it makes is a uncomfortable ridge down the middle.
To try and finish on a positive note the view and restaurant was outstanding and would recommend. If available pay the extra for the duel balcony corner rooms to take full advantage of the view. But sadley this is were the positive note finishes.

My experience is only of the spa services, and not of the hotel itself. Bought a spa package (included two treatments, use of the pool and outdoor facilities, the gym, and a free hot drink). Pool is nice, but small, and in the summer families stay at the hotel and so the pool area gets very busy! Very hard to find loungers or chairs - one family of 7 had put their clothes over 8 loungers and gone to the beach!! Poolside bar serves teas, coffees, cold drinks, and has a small selection of food. The free drink with the package is very small and is limited to tea or coffee, but very nice! Views are lovely, looking out over Poole harbour from Sandbanks. Gym is small but has a good range of equipment, and includes free towels and water. Spa is fantastic! Had a full body massage and the therapist was friendly but had a very relaxing approach, and even offered me some treatments to help my back afterwards. Amazing experience!

This hotel is excellent. The rooms are clean and tidy. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Food is expensive but well worth it. The only downside was the bathroom we had was ok but very small.

Visited the hotel as a guest of a spa member. Spent time in the gym, pool and sundeck area. The gym was small, but well-appointed. I could easily do a full workout. The outdoors pool was heated and suitable for leisure and lengths. The hot tub was closed. The sundeck had plenty of comfortable loungers with a great view of the bay. The bar service was good, although I was surprised to find they didn't sell any ice cream apart from 'scoops' served in a dish.

Great hotel in a great location. Outside pool on a sunny day can't be beaten

Spa was nice. A little bit busier in the pool than we hoped. Massage was very good. Staff were polite and helpful.

Well, I have had Lunch at the Haven many times and all has been Excellent. This last time was not only Mothers day but my Mothers 96th Birthday. I remember the call centre put me through to the Hotel Reception where I questioned whether this was the Haven. 'They said no this is now the Sandbanks Hotel. Strange, what was wrong with the Haven name. I booked for 8 people. We all arrived at the Haven on time to find the error. Big disappointment as the Sandbanks Hotel was a buffet and not a patch on the Haven and the whole place smelt of food.. The main fault was the call centre, putting me on to the wrong hotel.

This last time On the 26 I

Location is perfect. Views from the main bar and dining room, on a sunny day, are some of the best you could hope to get. If the weather is not so good, you are looking at getting very bored.
