My daughters and I visited on the 24th June 2018 for a pre wedding celebration and had a wonderful experience. The prossecco flowed constantly, the brunch was lovely and we had a very helpful and lovely young lady serve us all afternoon. She smiled and laughed with us and we couldn't fault her service. I would recommend this, place for a casual afternoon out.

If you live in or around Kingston upon Thames I urge you to try this place. Excellent on all levels.

I have eaten here a few times now and the food is delicious. The staff are friendly and offer great service. It's a great restaurant in a good location in Kingston. Bit of a hidden gem! I will be coming back. The cocktails are great too!

Had the most amazing evening at the Hawkers Bar and Brasserie- I'd struggle to find a restaurant that could top it as both food and service was exceptional! I would definitely recommend the scollops if you're a seafood lover and the chocolate fondant should not be missed. A lovely way to celebrate our engagement! # Hawkerskingston!

Had a lovely afternoon tea with my daughter yesterday afternoon. Was given various options of sandwiches which were all fresh and very nice. The cakes were delicious and four big scones between us...hence we took cakes home! Highly recommend and looking forward the next visit at the end of the month with girlfriends for lunch and bottomless Prosecco!

Friendly and generous staff who couldn't do anymore to help

Excellent Valentine’s Day lunch! Booked the three course lunch with bottomless prosecco! We were greeted at the door, shown to our table and order was taken very quickly. They were busy but were still very attentive to us. We’ll definitely go back!

8 of us had the most fantastic afternoon at Hawkers yesterday for a bottomless brunch that we bought vouchers for on Groupon. Food was delish and the prosecco was free flowing for the full 90 minutes - and we really made the most of it 😉🥂

User

10/10 on service and food, certainly the best place to eat in Kingston

User

Staff were very pleasant and friendly; didn’t wait too long for our food. The Hawkers brunch was lovely but the Welsh Rarebit was really not nice... maybe I made the wrong choice but it was very heavy on the mustard. Still, enjoyed our visit and would go again. A nice place to re-fuel after shopping

User

Really good value for money did the Groupon bottomless prosseco lunch, staff were very helpful lovely food

Not greeted or told where to go on arrival. Not taken to our table; a waitress just pointed out a table and expected us to find it even though there was was only one other diner! Selection of teas were poor. Had to ask for a rose one. Not told the name, just shown the tea leaves... Only one stand to share between 3. Asked if we had been provided with replacements for the ham sandwiches (had specified no pork when I booked)

and waitress wasn’t sure so she took the sandwich plate away after consulting the kitchen and returned with another plate. The new sandwich plate had cream cheese sandwiches (appeared as though the salmon had been taken out even though we had not made any issue re the salmon!), so we had salad sandwiches, cream cheese, chicken and egg mayo, but not nearly enough sandwiches for the three of us and when I asked for more the waitress said the kitchen won’t refill sandwiches?! I’ve never been to afternoon tea where we’ve been refused additional sandwiches (and I’ve been to a few) and told her so however she said this was the policy ( have since read reviews where diners were given more). Was told we could have more scones if we wanted them so settled for that. Had only been given 3 tiny ones to share between us in the first place. Not offered more cakes. Scones were mediocre bar a slightly underdone centre.

Cakes tasted good and presented well but too pricey for service (£20 a head - ridiculous!) and lack of attention to detail. Was hoping for higher standards but unfortunately left disappointed. Huge shame as it’s a nice concept but just wasn’t executed properly.

Went for afternoon tea on Friday, lovely waitress but the most awful food ever! My normal experience of a cream tea is beautiful presentation of sandwiches, fluffy scones and delicious cakes, well not at this place, everything was just thrown on a cake stand, sandwiches were slightly crispy on top, not fresh, cakes still frozen in the middle, and the scones were laughable, they looked like Little stones, under cooked and doughy, I think they must pop to Iceland and then advertise as a wonderful cream tea experience, in all there must have been all of £6 worth of food on the stand! We left 95% of it, took our drinks outside and wasn’t asked if there was a problem with anything! Also you get one tiny side plate so savoury and sweet together??

Don’t waste your money going here, 100% rip off!

This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. Went here for my birthday, as wanted to try this new place that opened opposite my flat. The supervisor Sami at the time of booking was great. She said it was a bottomless food and drink afternoon tea and assured us that we would be given no meat, but would include fish. The waitress that was serving us had a lot of attitude and took 60mins to bring out the first serving. This consisted of the worst sandwiches I have ever had, only tomato and cucumber sandwiches, nothing else! The cakes had gone off! When we told them we asked for fish, she continued to be rude. The manager then said he would serve us, but he was extremely rude. He took another 30mins to bring out exactly the same thing! We were starving by this point, so just ate what we were given. He then said that the drinks were not bottomless as Sami had told me on the phone. We asked for a second serving of food, as promised. But then the other supervisor came over to have a real go at me saying that they only give one serving. When we looked around, we noticed that every other table had been served copious amounts of bottomless food, but for some reason we were not entitled. Also, we were told we could only eat afternoon tea until 3pm, which meant I had to leave my niece at home. However, a big party turned up at 3.30pm and were served copious amounts of afternoon tea! The couple right next to us were also celebrating a birthday and were brought out a complimentary birthday treat dessert, but nothing was done for us. The whole experience was really upsetting and completely ruined our birthday tea. We will never be going back here again. This is a racist establishment and I believe this is the reason we were treated this way. Having looked at other reviews, the bad reviews of this place always seem to be from ethnic people. Definitely not the standard you expect in this area. The food is awful, the service is appalling! You would expect the standard of a brand new restaurant to be good, but there are so many terrible reviews of this place. The only way to improve this place is to get in completely new staff and food that is adequate and within it's used by date!
