Hawkinge Baptist Church Description

We are a small and growing church community, meeting each Sunday in the chapel within the Hawkinge Community Centre from 10. 30am-11. 30am (approx. )

Visitors are very welcome - whether you are visiting the area, looking for a fellowship, or interested in seeing what church is all about.

The fourth Sunday in each month is an all age service, complementing the JUMP FOR JOY Saturday children's club we run twice a month for primary school aged children within the town. We also run a free summer children's club each year - check our posts for news and updated information!

We host regular daytime and evening events for anyone in the community to join in with - from craft groups and coffee mornings, to discussion groups and afternoon fellowships. Our regular meetings are listed below - but please check our posts for any variations to this:

All events are held in the chapel and are free unless stated otherwise:

Monday 10am-11. 30am (weekly): COFFEE STOP
An informal social setting for anyone to drop in to for a coffee (or tea! ) and a chat. Held in the Community Centre foyer.

Tuesday 10. 30am (weekly): DISCUSSION GROUP
Currently watching a thought-provoking short video (Nooma with Rob Bell) to challenge and discuss. There will be a break for the summer.

Tuesday 10am-12pm (weekly during the summer 2014): ENQUIRERS COURSE.
For anyone who would like to know more about Christianity, or has questions about the meaning of life, etc. An informal course to explore these questions.

Wednesday 2pm (monthly): MOTHER'S UNION
A chance for mothers to come together to share support and prayer.

Wednesday 7. 30pm-9pm (fortnightly): BIBLE STUDY
A chance to meet in an informal setting to support one another in prayer and discuss a Bible character /topic. Held in the minister's home.

Thursday 9. 30am (monthly): CRAFT GROUP - MORNING.
A different craft each month - has included button art, 3D card making, and Christmas decorations (in winter! ) £2 to cover cost of materials. Usually the first Thursday of each month.

Thursday 2. 30pm (weekly): ATERNOON FELLOWSHIP
A chance to get together to listen to various guest speakers and discuss a topic.

Thursday 7pm (monthly): CRAFT GROUP - EVENING
A repeat of the craft activity learnt earlier in the month during the morning craft group. Some people come to both! £2 to cover the cost of materials. Usually the third Thursday of each month.

Saturday 10am-11. 30am: JUMP FOR JOY CHILDREN'S CLUB (twice a month).
A fun time for primary school aged children to meet together for various activities and learning.

Annual events:
HOLIDAY AT HOME: A few days during a week in July each year where people who may not be going away for a holiday have the opportunity to have a holiday at home! With fun, food and guest speakers. Needs pre-signing up for. Please see the posts or pick up a summer Newsletter for more information.

CHILDREN'S SUMMER CLUB
A few days during one week in August, with a different topic each year. Lots of fun and laughter! Please see the posts or pick up a summer Newsletter for more information.
