We had a truly wonderful sunny morning, wandering around the beautiful Middleton Hall and gardens, steeped in history spanning hundreds of years until.... we wondered if it was warp speed ahead and we would all be boldly going where no man had gone before!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It was a family affair here today as Brenda’s brother rolled up his sleeves to help us in the garden this morning. Thank you Paul 🙏💖 🌹 Then this afternoon Grandma Kizzie 🐶 granddaughter Lottie 🐶 half sister Bella 🐶 and Kizzie and Lottie’s mummy Jill popped in for an afternoon of tea ☕️ treats 🦴 and fuss 💖 💕. It was also little Lottie’s birthday, she was one today🎂. Happy Birthday 🥳 little Lottie 🐶
Not only did we get a brand new greenhouse💖❤️🍅 we now have a brand new shed😍🤗🤗. Thank you 🙏 so much it’s amazing. We love it. 💗 💖 💕. I wonder if some brand new shinny gardening tools will find their way in?!🤔😀
A very big thank you🙏💜to all that helped us to achieve £62.75 on behalf of Alzheimer’s society yesterday at our cup cake coffee morning 🧁🍰🧁.Well done to the cake tower 🎂 winner Kate on your guess of 10.5 inches ,you were nearest 😀😀(it was11inches) .💜💜💜
You can’t be sad ☹️ with a cupcake 🧁 in each hand, or while your licking the bowl🍲🤣🤣 There was smiles and fun all round this afternoon as we prepared for Tomorrow’s cupcake day fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Society. 💜💜
Everyone is welcome to join us 10.30 am tomorrow morning in the Sky lounge. What better excuse is there to eat cake 🍰 🧁 and unite against dementia 💜💜💜 and don’t forget to wear purple or bring something purple. ☂️
Even though it was cold 🥶 and wet 🌧 outside today, we found a warm dry corner to paint bench number 5.
Last week when the 🌞 sun was shining Monica had a visit from her grand daughter 💖and Cooper 🐶 who came to admire all her hard work in helping us get this far with our roof top garden project. Thank you 🙏 Monica and 🙏Sister Anne-Marie we couldn’t have done it without you 💕💖💗😀🥰

Even though we had a really busy day here today, we also remember that this is the 75th anniversary of the D-DAY landings, one of the most remarkable Allied wartime operations.
So, for today we will remember and pay tribute to all those who fought to liberate Europe and remember those who never returned.
A fun, relaxing, awesome, chill and loving time is the best way to describe our lunch out today at The Foley Arms in Streetly 😀🍽☕️🥘. The company was fantastic as well as the food and the service. Thank you 🙏 Lauren, Sam the chef 👩🍳 and all the team for looking after us so well. 💖 We will definitely be back.
Then this afternoon we got busy creating our own floral displays with the help of some beautiful 🌹 💐🌺🌸💖💗💕 flowers donated by Julie from Archers Florist in Brownhills. Thank you Julie. 🙏 😊❤️As you can we made some lovely flower arrangments that will certainly brighten up our Home 🏡.
Its amazing what you can find in the garden centres these days 😉 from dinosaurs 🦕 🦖 to hand sanitiser’s with your name on and Dobbies Garden Centre in Cannock was no different. However, a few plants 🌷🌺🌹are now making their way into our new greenhouse 😀🤗🤗 along with some more tomato 🍅 and pepper plants very kindly donated by Brian’s daughter. 🙏🤗☺️ thank you.

We have already had some tomato 🍅 plants from Jack’s family to go in and there is plenty of room for lot’s more 😀🌹 🌷 🌶 🥒🌺🍅🌹

So.... after Monica was suitably suited up we got to grips with sanding bench number 5 and now it’s ready to painted. 💙💙 Were nearly there ..... 4 benches down and 1 to go. Great job Monica. 🙏💖💖🤗 Irene came up to give us some moral support and admire all the hard work gone into our lovely roof top garden. 🌺🌸
Or...... how about a trip to Kingsbury Water Park. 💦 🌳 🚤 🍦 the weather was beautiful and it was cream all round. ❤️☀️🥰😍
My heart ❤️ is full of admiration for our residents today. Over the bank holiday weekend they rallied around and between them our vegetables 🥕🌽 🍅 have been now been planted in our raised beds!!! 🤩🤩🤩😘🥰😍Wow truly amazing. A massive thank you 😊 🙏 to everyone who helped. Our roof top garden is beginning to really take shape and is looking good. 🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️🙏 There was a wonderful surprise too.......some flowers. 🌹 💐 🌺
Then this afternoon we were blowing bubbles, playing hide and seek and joining in with nursery rhymes. 🤗😍Thank you to the children for coming to visit us 🙏 .What a great way to spend a sunny ☀️ Tuesday afternoon.
This week is Dementia Action/Awareness week and we held our purple coffee morning to “let’s talk about Dementia”. We can all take actions big and small to help every day life better for those with Dementia. Let’s all do something today to help create a Dementia friendly U.K. Thank you 🙏 Rich for baking and Diane for decorating our yummy cakes They were 😋 delicious. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Yesterday it was all hands 🤚 🖐 on deck to carry on with our rooftop garden project. Even Kate our Home Manger came up to lend a hand. Thank you Kate 🙏 and a big thank you 🙏 too, to Monica you helped finish bench number 3 in the morning and Sister Ann-Marie to start bench number 4 in the afternoon. We couldn’t have done it without you. ❤️🤩🤩🤩Our roof is beginning to look 👀 lovely. 😍🥰😀💙 can’t wait till it’s finished now.
As part of the Fire Service commitment to support people living with Dementia and as part of Dementia Action Week Fire Officers 👮♂️ Matt and Neil came to see our residents and talk to them about fire 🔥 safety today and in true community spirit joined in with our beautiful therapy dog’s Kizzie 🐶 and Lottie 🐶 and the wonderful volunteer Jill. A huge thank you 🙏 to Matt, Neil and all your colleagues at West Midlands Fire Service for the amazing job you do and to Jill 🤩🤩🤩 and all our volunteers 🤩🤩🤩 here at The Hawthorns who so generously give up their time just to see the smiles on our residents faces. 😁😁😁 We couldn’t do it without you 😍🥰❤️💚💙🧡💕💖 and of course thank you to Kizzie and Lottie too.
