Hawthorns Hotel: Bar, Restaurant And Accommodation Description

Hawthorns Hotel, is a small independently run B& B hotel offering comfortable en-suite rooms at reasonable prices. We are situated in the heart of Glastonbury, a small Somerset market town with a strong spiritual and magical heritage. We are in easy reach of the Abbey, Tor, Chalice Well and the high street for all the esoteric shops.

Our restaurant offers a varied menu, with local, vegetarian and ethnic dishes on offer. Simon, our chef /patron has won several awards for his curries including the Curry Pub of The Year. Every Thursday evening we run our "Curry Club" where we offer a buffet with five dishes, two meat two vegetarian and a fish, all from a specific curry region.
]
We also host the Glastonbury Open Mic Night on a Tuesday, and hold regular quality acoustic music events, on most Fridays.

On wednesday we hold a fun Quiz night, open to all.

All in all we hope to provide you with a warm welcome and bring you the very best in food, drink and entertainment, weather you are a resident or a visitor to this unique town of Glastonbury.

A very experienced, Blues duo, on their maiden Hawthorns Gig, featuring the legendary guitar playing of Jon Van-Gowler

User

Classic bluesman, Howlin' Matt, a real gentleman, and guitar nerd, he has them all, acoustic, electric, resonators, and his favourite the three stringed cigar box slide.....

User

Papa Johns, Crawfish Junction, Blues band.......nice to have a local act doing a home gig....Good time Rock'n'Roll and Blues classics, this will be a party night.

User

It's been too long Rhys blew us away with his band a few years ago, and finally we have managed to synchronise diaries for a solo show, featuring his exquisite slide guitar technique, on the Wiesingbourne, style of Slide Guitar, combined with his gritty voice and an exceptional Blusey delivery, a real treat for all you Blues purists.....

User

A welcome return to Jayne and Adam, long time regulars here at Hawthorns with their melodic and intricate Americana style of music.

User

Billy Lee first appeared here last year on Tour from the States and blew us away with his Southern charm and gentle, melodic, toe tapping, Cajun/Zydeco music, Well it's that time again and he has fitted a trip to the Hawthorns into his busy Tour schedule aint you a lucky bunch......Curry Club Night so grab some curry and enjoy some Ethnically diverse entertainment.....

It's That time of year again, May Bank Holiday, and a celebration of Craft real Ales and the odd Cider...over 20 Ales and seven ciders, over the whole weekend, with music Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday and an open mic slot on the Monday......

User

A chance to see one of my favourite bands, original, varied influences from folk rock to Gypsy Jazz, with humour and musicality, it really doesn’t get much better!

User

Davey Malone with Jake Martin, on their "Four Days of Hell tour. Funny, thought provoking songs of silliness, and politics.

User

A bonus Saturday gig from an exceptional musician now based back in the UK after a spell in France, Alex has a warm stage presence, and is one of the country’s leading Wiesingbourne slide, and acoustic guitarists, a not to be missed gig!

User

This Saturday night Gaz comes back to the Hawthorns for another packed show. Tickets go up to £15 on the door (if there are any left) so book now to avoid disappointment.

Really liked this quaint pub. Foods fantastic. Staff are really friendly and fantastic music entertainment the night we stayed. Loved our breakfast in the morning and the bed was so comfy. We are certainly going to stay again in future.

Quirky and characterful place with friendly service and great food (especially the curry specials!). We LOVE the Sunday Blues Jam sessions too. Highly recommended

User

Possibly the friendliest pub/restaurant/venue in the southwest. Simon is an awsome landlord.

If Mary and Joseph came knocking... he'd find them a space, serve them quality beer, personally cook them a stunning curry (even tweak it down a touch if Mary wasn't into spicy food) and have them serenaded by the best musicians Glastonbury has to offer.

That's right... The Hawthorns is so awsome they could re write the bible!

Family and dog friendly.

User

Myself and my partner have visited and stayed several times, every time we've been met with such lovely staff, friendly locals, great mead and out of this world food, on our last visit it was open mic night and the music was a broad range and all very entertaining! I would not hesitate to revisit and would absolutely not stay anywhere else in Glastonbury.

User

Lovely homely atmosphere here with comfortable, clean rooms at an affordable price. Tea and coffee in the rooms and friendly staff. The food is leaning on the exotic side if you're bored with the usual menu and you might even get an exciting vegetarian dish of which we went for curry night. Even the locals were friendly and welcoming

User

Hands down my favorite pub, restaurant, and entertainment venue in the area. My local when I'm in town. Simon's a genius at the curry, the ale's always great, all my friends either hang out or perform there, or both, and it's in Glastonbury, for crying out loud – how can anyone do better than this?
