Hazelnut Farm Description
Follow the day to day running of our Devon based Smallholding.
We breed Balwen sheep, who originate from Wales and are a Rare Breed sheep. They are small sheep with excellent fleeces.
We breed Ryeland sheep, both white and coloured Ryelands. The are very friendly sheep.
We have a number of different breeds of chickens and ducks. These include Golden Salmon Maran, Black Marsh Daisy, Brown Marsh Daisy, Welsummer, Andalusian, Pekin Bantam, Light Sussex, Cuckoo Maran, Blue Maran, Black Maran and Russian Orloff chickens. Khaki Campbell and Miniature Silver Appleyard Ducks.
We also have 2 Saddleback x Pietrain pigs, that we are raising for meat.
We grow much of our own vegetables and some fruit. We use our produce for ourselves and feed excess to the animals.
We use permaculture within our smallholding.
