Established in 2008, Head Kandy is a busy and popular Hair Salon at the heart of Gloucester's historic docks.
Head Kandy Hairdressing Description
Head Kandy offers a fascinating and vibrant place to have your next treatment.
Head Kandy's owner, Ryan Fortey has worked in the city as a stylist for more than a decade and through the past few years built up a fantastic team of stylists, and insists on a relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere in the salon.
Always busy, Head Kandy has many loyal customers, many of them have become good friends of Ryan and the other stylists. Why not make a booking yourself and come and experience us for yourself.
Hairdressing
From blow-dries and cuts to restyles and put ups. Gents, Ladies and Children of all ages are all welcome. We specialise in a ladies layered bobs of all angles, and long layered cuts.
Head Kandy are well known for the friendly and relaxed environment in which we work, thus making for a fully enjoyable experience.
Barbering
We pride ourselves on being up to date with Gents cuts. Using texture, colour and a close attention to detail, sharp edges and tight blends we are able to create that funky look most men are looking for.
Colouring
We use L'oreal professional colour; Permanent, semi, Quasi and Toners to achieve a fantastic colour explosion to enhance your hairs natural beauty. Always encouraging you to have a full consultation with one of our colour experts we are sure that we will always surpass your expectations.
We specialise in colour correction.
Extensions
We use Balamain 100% Human Hair which is guaranteed for 6 months of wear. During the process we invite you to have a full consultation with one of our experts so that we are sure to meet your full requirements.
We also have a cheaper alternative for when you just need temporary wear.
Threading
Threading hair is an ancient method commonly practiced in Eastern countries, like Egypt and India, but is becoming very popular here in the West. Threading removes the entire hair follicle, lasting up to 6 weeks. How Does it Work? A cotton thread is pulled along unwanted hair in a twisting motion, to trap hair in a mini lasso, and lifts hair right out of the follicle. Threading is mainly done around the facial area e. g eyebrows, upperlip, chin etc.
Eyebrows and Eyelashes
Eyelash /Eyebrow tinting
This treatment offers an effective long term alternative to the daily use of mascara.
It last for about 4-5 weeks.
It is available in many colours: black, brown, blue and grey.
The treatment takes 10-15mins for eyelash tinting and 5mins for eyebrow tinting.
Enhance general appearance of the eye.
Great for people with known sensitivity to make-up.
Good for sporting activities especially swimming.
Good for people with no time to apply make-up daily.
Good for people with fine eyebrows.
It is a fantastic treatment for those who cannot or do not like to wear mascara.
Eyelash perming
Long term effect - the perm last from 6-8 weeks.
Alternative to the daily use of eyelash curlers.
Eyelash perming treatments takes about an hour to complete.
The final outcome is that your eyelashes will look longer, luscious and curly.
Permed lashes remain curled even when wet.
Lashes appear longer and fuller when curled and tinted
Eyelash perms can dramatically open up the look of the eye area and give the appearance of longer and fuller lashes, even without mascara.
Eyelash Extensions
The best way to accentuate your eyes.
Ideal in the summer for the beach, pool, or before you go on holiday.
They darken, thicken and lengthen your lashes while enhancing your eyes.
When you wake up in the morning your eyes will be perfectly defined and enhanced and you will save on time with your make-up as there is no need to use mascara.
Very relaxing and totally painless procedure.
They don't cause any damage to your natural lashes in any way and are 100% safe, waterproof and weightless.
They can be worn whilst sleeping, showering and swimming, so only you will know they are not real.

Wouldn't go anywhere else for my hair or eyebrows. Great cut and colour, relaxed atmosphere and as someone else has commented - always laughter.
What's not to love...........a brilliant cut and colour from Ryan every visit goes without saying but this is usually accompanied by much laughter and a large glass of cold Pinot. Today, he even made me a fajita for lunch! What a true gent he is xx

These guys were all amazing, I highly recommend them to everyone! So friendly and welcoming. The highlights I had are one of the best I've ever had, I was so so happy - They slotted me in for an appointment to have highlights and eyebrow threading done for my wedding day, I was slightly nervous as I'd never used them before but they totally exceeded all expectations! They even allowed my little girl to come along as I didn't have anyone to look after her and they were absolutely brilliant with her, leaving me to relax and have my hair done! 100% recommend this company and all the team, they are fantastic. I've been going to Ryan for years and always enjoy the experience as the salon is friendly and professional and the results are great. I even take my 3 & 4 year old boys there and they run to the chair so that Lucy can 'make them handsome'. Go on, treat yourself!
I'v never liked getting my hair done but a few weeks of coming to head kandy has changed that the staff are all very nice and make you feel special so a big thanks to you all
I love this place. I travel up from Surrey to get Ryan to weave his magic. I am always made to feel at home. The cut an colour is exceptional.
I love having Lucy do my hair! She's so friendly and very accommodating with my hearing impairment. I have had her twice now and both times she has transformed my hair from the boring, dry condition it was in- to the beautiful brown/blonde ombré I have now😊 She deserves a medal for putting up with my knotty hair and if I had more change on me, I would have given her a bigger tip! Thank you so much Lucy. 100% recommend.

Have been going to Ryan for years. The team at Headkandy are very professional and friendly and always gives a first class service.
Fabulous and friendly salon. I moved to this one a few months back after feeling a bit like I was on a factory production line at another salon (one person wash, another cut, another dry no hope of someone getting used to what you like). Third visit today and can’t recommend highly enough. Warm and welcoming staff who provide refreshments and kindness (even gave my husband a drink and he wasn’t getting a cut). Excellent with kids and fantastic colour, consultation and style. Plus they stamp your parking card so you get two free hours parking in the quays. What is not to like?
