Headstart Day Nursery & Pre-School Bourne

What a great year!! We would like to thank all of our wonderful families, for your continued support throughout the last year!! It has been such a pleasure, watching all of your children grow, learn, develop & make transitions into their new rooms and of course move on up to school! Just magical, to see so many achievements gained over the course of the year! Again, we are very much looking forward, to making lots more memories with all our children, as they continue to grow and develop! We really do have the BEST job in the world! ☃🦌🎅CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY!!! 🎅🎁🎄 To ALL parents & Carers!.... please remember that tomorrow (Friday 14th Dec) is 'Christmas Jumper Day' & we are inviting all staff and children, (parents too?) to wear theirs along to nursery, if they wish! 🌟Reminder to all our Pre-School parents🌟 Don't forget, it is our Pre-School Christmas party, tomorrow: 14th Dec 11-1. Starting with dancing & a musical game, then stopping for some party food, before a 'special visitor' makes his guest appearance! As it is Christmas Jumper day aswell tomorrow, we are happy for all our children & staff to wear their Christmas Jumper, or anything else Christmassy or party clothing for this if they would like to! On Tuesday, our 'Little Adventurers' enjoyed their second trip to the 'Ginger Fox Cafe' to visit their new friends there. It was a cold walk, but they were soon warmed with a yummy, warm drink! It is so lovely to see the wonderful ladies in there again! Thank you so much for gaving us!! We would like to say a big 'Thank You' to Heidi too, for all of her help! 🤗

This week our Forest School children, enjoyed a great observation walk with Kerry, where they looked at many natural things within the environment. The children spoke about the river and had observed that the level of it had decreased a little since last time they visited, so Kerry explained about the weather cycle to them. It was very muddy this week, but everyone really enjoyed wading through it, regardless! On the way back, there was the usual visit to the Donkey's! Once back, they enjoyed making marshmallow chocolate bars, which they enjoyed around the fire. Thanks again for a lovely session Kerry, it was lots of fun!! 😊

Well, We all had a fabulous time, at Bourne's Christmas Market today! 🌲so great to see so many of our lovely families! We would like to shout out, a big "THANK YOU!!" to everyone who came along to see us! The support you continue to show is truly, truly treasured! Our 'Little Adventurers' Took a trip to the 'Ginger Fox Cafe' this morning, to visit the lovely ladies, to say "hello" and as it's such a chilly day, to warm themselves up with a yummy hot chocolate, whilst they were there! Everyone enjoyed themselves so much, that we will be continuing to visit the cafe every other week, Please speak to Helen, Abbie or Tracy, if you would like any more information on this! Thank you.

The children of Pre-School are currently learning about 'Road Safety' and as part of their learning, some of the children from Green Group took a walk into town, where they looked for road signs and at the different directions, the arrows were pointing. At the crossing, they pressed the button and waited patiently for the green man to illuminate, before safely crossing the road, to the other side. They then crossed back over and walked back to the nursery. On their way back, they noticed a very warm & cosy looking cat, sitting in a shop window, so then paused for a moment to wave hello! Well done to all the children for using their listening skills and for their input into the conversation, once we were back at the nursery!

What a lovely day we have all had for 'Children In Need'! We have created lots of lovely art work, counting and painting spots onto Pudsey's Bandana, Watched the 'Children In Need' Duck race, Decorated spotty biscuits, and then everyone has had lots of fun at our 'stay & play' We would like to thank our parents for coming along to play, today. We hope you had a lovely time with us! Thanks to everyone's kind donations, we are happy to announce that we have raised a total of £70.42 for this very worthwhile cause! Enjoy your yummy cakes everyone & have a lovely weekend!

Our 'Children In Need' 'Stay & Play' afternoon is ready and waiting! We look forward to seeing those of you that are popping along, very soon! We are running this from 2pm-3pm!!

Headstart Nursery will be attending this event from 11.00am-16.00pm, So if you are out and about on that day, then why not pop along and see us?! At our stall you can have your face painted, buy your 'magic reindeer food', 'special santa keys' for your front door amd much more!! We would love to see you all there!!

Just a reminder to all parents, that tomorrow is 'Children In Need' and this years theme is “Do Your Thing”. So tomorrow we have decided to dress up as “Something we Love” for a small donation of £1. (Proceeds to Children In Need) Also we are hosting a Stay and Play for all of the children. This will be hosted 2-3pm in the Pre-School room, where there will be a bake sale, Duck race Sweepstake and lots of other fun filled activities, for you and your child to take part in. We look forward to seeing all of your wonderful outfits!!!

This week the children have had a great time talking about fireworks night & creating some lovely pictures, for their display. We have all been celebrating Diwali with Radhika and enjoying some of her really yummy, home made snacks too! She also brought in some lovely jewellery and a sari for everyone to try on which was fun and all the staff wore a Bindi! All of the children also created a beautiful Diva lamp to take home! As well as this, the children around the nursery, have today been learning about how special Poppies are and have been very busy, making Poppy cakes, & marking their handprints to make a beautiful poppy wreath, which the children then laid at the war memorial, this afternoon, to give gratitude to our fallen & On the way back, they visited the ducks!! What a great week we have had!
