Healing Hands For Motherhood Description
I am a midwife with over 15 years of experience mainly within the community setting. I have worked with women and their families in the NHS & privately as an Independant Midwife. I passionately believe that even in a more complex pregnancy, each woman should be helped to feel her pregnancy is as normal as possible. I have found, & research has shown, that by providing women with a holistic package of care, they are able to progress through their pregnancy journey feeling more confident in themselves and their ability to birth their baby. I have worked with many women who have used a variety of complementary therapies over the years and have seen how they give each woman a sense of control over their bodies and symptoms.
I trained as a midwife in London at Kings College Universty and have followed this up by training in complementary therapies, namely aromatherapy and massage, with Expectancy, a specialist company who are the leading providers of professional education on complementary therapies in pregnancy and childbirth. I have since embarked on an IFPA accredited Clinical Aromatherapy& Massage Diploma. At our first ever appointment I carry out a comprehensive medical history to ensure each treatment is appropriate and tailored to you. At any consecutive appointments I provide an antenatal assessment to ensure you and your baby are well before any treatment is carried out. If I provide you with oils to use at home I give you written instructions to carry out the treatments yourself.
Please be aware that in order to treat you, I need to have access to your hand held pregnancy notes, including scans and blood results. Without these available I am unable to continue any treatments or offer any advice.
