Today's thought for the day is that of spring 🌸
As blossom appears on trees, Philip Larkin's spring poem involves renewal:
“The trees are coming into leaf ... Like something almost being said; The recent buds relax and spread, Their greenness is a kind of grief.”
What makes one read his poem with a pang is the gap between what the trees are doing and what we, as human beings, can manage.
