You may of seen we were closed Friday from 7pm last week. Unfortunately there was a fight resulting in a couple of casualties.

Hello just to let you all know we have changed our name from 'grandad bills' to HEALY's fish and chips, so if your passing pop in and say hello! :)

With autumn very much here the leaves on the trees of lower hopton are as golden as the delicious homemade batter on our fish! Brave the cold and get yourselves down to calder road - we'd love to see you ! X

We have been a few times to Grandad Bill's the fish is lovely and fresh the batter is light my little boy loves the fish and chicken bites he can never decide, and always a friendly service... We will definitely be going back soon. Xx

I've waited nearly 19 years to have decent fish and chips in Mirfield !!! Delicious ...must mention the staff too ...what a pleasant place to visit ...we'll definitely be back and spreading the word

Really enjoyed our fish and chips from Healy's tonight. A very generous portion of perfectly cooked fish and the chips were yummy. Definitely recommend them!

Started out really nice but the last few times the fish has been over cooked, more of a dark brown instead of a golden brown batter and hard/dry inside.



Quality is different depending on who is on the counter cooking sometimes i would give it 10/10 but recently more of a 3/10

So sorry to say but not impressed. Appreciate it's a new business and will be hiccups but waited half an hour yesterday evening and then was disappointed with soggy chips & very thin fish dry fish. The batter was nice & crispy but overall left us with a very greasy pallet.

When it first open it was spot on the fishs was massive and you got a lot for your money and taste great. But when saterday as havent been I'm a while and it changed fish and chips portions have got a lot smaller don't tasted as good. Won't be going back.

Recently visited and will not be going back ! Found the calamari to be just a ring of over cooked batter and the fish was much the same, too much over cooked batter to be able to taste the fish. The young girls that served us was nice and polite but seemed worried about breaking their nice long painted nails. Sorry grandad Bill, we was really looking forward to our meal but was left very disappointed

The chips were crispy but not in a nice way and the curry sauce was really spicy, i love spicy food/sauces but not on fish and chips. Where is the traditional chippy curry sauce?
