About Hearing Dogs For Deaf People
Hearing Dogs for Deaf People train dogs to alert deaf people to important and life-saving sounds.
Our dogs also provide emotional support and companionship, which help deaf people to leave loneliness behind and reconnect with life.

That Friday feeling ππΎ
Hearing dog puppy Yoshi did a great job on his first shopping trip. He was on his best behaviour and kept his concentration at all times. π
Well done Yoshi! ππΎ
It's important our puppies know that all other animals - big or small - should be seen as friends, not foe (or food!). πΎ
Here's the lovely Inca meeting a neighbour's cat for the first time. π±
She was a little unsure at first, but soon realised that the cat was not a toy - or a great play buddy - and she kept a safe distance at all times.
It's a double #TongueOutTuesday π
Introducing a very happy Jasmine and Valour π
We'd love to see some more attempts πΈ
How do you stay cool in this weather? βοΈ
Our hearing dogs may know one or two ways ππΎ
There's only one place to start to the week...
A huge congratulations and thank you to the intrepid explorers, who conquered Snowdon overnight on Saturday. β°οΈ
You are all heroes! ππΎ
Cuteness overload. π
Uncle Chilli loves nothing more than looking after his adorable nephew Luxor. β€οΈπΎ
A big round of a-paws to hearing dog puppy Marcus, who took travelling by train in his stride ππΎ
Itβs really important our hearing dog pups experience public transport before they become a hearing dog. If a deaf person gets a bus or a train to work, we want to make sure their new hearing dog is comfortable with this experience.
Well done Marcus! π
Hearing dog puppy Rio would like to wish everyone a happy #AssistanceDogDay! ππΎ
Doesn't he look smart in his learning jacket π
We'd love to be in a paddling pool right now! βοΈ
Let us know your paw-fect captions for this fab photo with hearing dog puppies Archer and Harry. ππΎ
Deafness does not just affect a personβs hearing, it can isolate people and take away their confidence and independence.
Our amazing dogs make such a difference - thank you to everyone who supports us! ππΎ

A reminder to keep an eye out for Blue-green Algae as the hot weather returns. βοΈ
The algae is more prevalent during & after sunny periods, so don't let your dog swim in or drink water from rivers, streams, ponds or lakes in affected areas, and avoid any water that doesnβt look totally clean.
One excellent, safe and fun way to help your dog cool off as the temperature rises is to use a paddling pool.
... Have you seen an area that's been affected? Let's spread the word to keep our four-legged friends safe. ππΎ
Our friends at The Kennel Club UK have written a helpful guide to the the dangers of Blue-green Algae. Click below to read it.

Hot off the press from our Beatrice Wright Centre in Bielby... π
Happy Yorkshire Day everyone. ππΎ
A huge congratulations to Tank, who has passed his second stage of hearing dog training. π
Tank's next challenge is to use all he has learned to start making his own decisions, rather than being told what to do. This is also where we start introducing soundwork that will allow him to transform a deaf personβs life. ππΎ
Perhaps our cutest #TongueOutTuesday yet thanks to hearing dog puppy Didi. π
We'd love to see photos of any more attempts. ππΎ
Happy #InternationalFriendshipDay everyone. ππΎ
Best buddies Merlin & Ralph had a fab weekend playing together. βΊοΈ
How's this for some Monday motivation? πͺ
