Incredible news here at the Heaton Ingredient, i'm sure you'll be hearing all about it. Maggie is on the mend and we also welcome a little bundle of joy from Kev and Helen.
Unfortunately for you that means we'll be closed, however you can find us down under the Tyne Bridge at the Quay Ingredient as it's business as usual.

Remember dogs welcome here at the Heaton Ingredient. Fuel up for a walk in the park, get a takeaway to enjoy on the mooch, or simply drop in for some breakfast. Make the most of your bank holiday.

HAPPY GREAT BRITISH PIE WEEK. Celebrate with one of our signature Breakfast pies. Everything you'd find in a Quay Ingredient full english in a beautiful pie crust, topped with a fried egg, and served with hash browns. Has to be seen!

Thanks to everyone for their kind words and well wishes, we WILL be open this weekend, we're finding our feet again, trying out some new vegetarian, vegan dishes, and the arrival of the full english breakfast pie (needs to be witnessed). We're also in the process of changing our internet provider, so for now Heaton Ingredient will be cash only (sorry). Hopefully see you over the weekend for a gingerbread man and a smile.

Was here for lunch today and like the main branch food and service was excellent as always had a fab time with delicious food. Another big thank you to Maggie and the team and thanks for the bday treat was very thoughtful and is no longer here as I ate it already :)

User

Very much a value for money establishment! Warm welcome, hearty food in cold weather, best on the street!

User

Took the family for breakfast here this morning. So many tasty things on the menu that it was tricky to choose. Can highly recommend the haggis and duck eggs. Will definitely be going back to work my way through the rest of the menu!

User

Simply great every time we go. Lovely to have gluten free options for this celiac 👅 ❤️

User

Nearly walked past by accident as it's not very noticeable from the outside but what a delight when we walked in, greeted with a smile and very attentive, the food on the other hand, was fantastic, we ordered English breakfast which looked double portioned and high quality bacon which lets a lot of places down and we also ordered haggis and duck egg on toast which is my favourite breakfast so far. Will definitely be returning

User

Loved it .. really good price and good food .. if ya looking for a big hearty breaky with a twist (love the mushrooms and eggs) and bulletproof coffee and not to break the bank then Happy Ingrediant is the place..

Ps i love little things like the water jar where ya can just get some water without needing to ask for tap water (saves the embarassment) as sometimes ya dont want a whole bottle of water just a small cup after a strong coffee.

User

I'm shocked at reading the following complaint below. I've been to the cafe many times and always been served fantastic food and Fabulous service.

You pay for what you get is what I say.

Everyone to there own comments/complaints but can't believe this about Sonia as she is lovely everytime We visit.

Honestly, I was just walking by and no lie the smell stopped me in my tracks and I just had to see where it was coming from.

I was greeted by a big smile and friendly face which is always a bonus and makes all the difference.

I asked if they had seats outside as it was the hottest day of the year and ... sure enough, they did round back (WIN) it was like a nice little secluded area which gave it a really warm/homely feel to it.

The waiter introduced himself (Justin) and asked me for my name which made the experience that much more pleasant.

I ordered a full English and .... wow. You could tell the quality of food they cook is of high standard, the flavour and presentation was phenomenal. Everything was seasoned well and the sausages were beautifully cooked. Everything was just awesome.

I highly highly recommend yous all to try it if you fancy treating your taste buds.

AND you can pay contactless, which a lot of breakfast joints don't really have and can be inconvenient as I don't carry my wallet or card with me at all times.

It was only when I walked out that I looked at the name, and cleverly the name says it all because based on the experience ... the ingredients knocked its out the park.

My only regret was not asking for the chefs number as I could do with this at home!! So if you see this message me

Peace and love guy's, as a former restaurant manager it really blew me away.

Thank you x

User

Highly recommend this little gem of a cafe I had the most amazing poached eggs

I will definitely be back

User

Great job! Good food and good service! same high standard that we are used to glad it has reopened and looking forward to trying the rest of the menu!

User

First visit and will be my last !!!! Sat down after 30 mins eventually took our order after a further 15 mins . I was then served cold coffee twice. After being there for an hour we were served cold eggs Benedict and bacon sandwich . Needless to say we didn't eat our food , paid our bill and left and got a sorry as we left !!!. Service and food poor !!!

User

Fantastic little cafe, very friendly staff and the eggs Benedict

were to die for.

User

Delicious vegan breakfast burrito and super friendly staff

User

Called in for lunch on Friday and was greeted at the door by a friendly waiter, who seated me, asked if I'd visited before (I hadn't) and made some recommendations based on what's popular and what was available that day. I chose the Eggs Benedict and wasn't disappointed! I especially liked how the staff popped by from time to time to ask if everything was OK, attentive but not intrusive and allowed me to order a tea part way through my meal. This came in a huge mug which makes a nice change from some places. With the table service and the comfortable and relaxed surroundings this little place combines the best qualities of a local café with a more upmarket restaurant. The prices are good value too. I shall definitely go again.

User

After having many a fantastic breakfast at Quay Ingredient we decided to try the new Heaton Ingredient.. As expected a delicious full English, and crumpets and beans for my daughter.. Lovely young girl working there gave us great service and she was really friendly. Will be back...soon!

User

Absolutely amazing as usual!! Staff are attentive and friendly and the food is always beautiful. Quay and Heaton Ingredient are the best breakfast in Newcastle hands down!

User

Absolutely LOVE this place! Definitely my favourite place for breakfast or brunch!! Totally recommend it, atmosphere and staff are lovely!

User

£11.85 for 2 breakfasts to take away, asked for bacon sausage egg and hash brown in a Scottie- came with 1 sausage 1 hash brown 1 egg 2 bits of bacon, then asked for sausage egg has town tomatoe and mushrooms with toast and stressed no bacon, got 1 sausage 1 piece of bacon 1 has brown 1 egg and a pile of grease. Any half decent sandwich shop knows you don't give 1 sausage in a breakfast or a sandwich, especially when charging nearly £6 for it. Next time I'll walk down the road to sainsburies buy all the ingredients to make it myself have more food and spend less money. Looking at this sandwich in front of me disappointed and robbed.

User

Terrible food and service! Waited ages to be served, all of our poached eggs were overcooked and then when we sent them back, each of our meals were returned cold. When we asked for some sort of compensation we didn't even get an apology from the floor manager Sonia. She was one of the rudest people we've ever come across, telling us that if we don't like it to go to another cafe next time. I can assure you that we will be and recommend that you don't work in the service industry. Disgraceful!
