If you enjoy the more influenced rock bands from the late 60’s through to the mid 70’s, well you really will feel at home at HEAVY LOAD. . .
Favourites to hit the decks include LED ZEPPELIN, FREE, ZZ TOP, HUMBLE PIE, STONES, HENDRIX, ALLMAN BROTHERS and LYNYRD SKYNYRD. We also have a fanatical appreciation for THE BLACK CROWES as you may have noticed if you’ve been to the club before!
We do dig deeper into our collection for a few things that you may have not heard before, but generally keep to the more well known bands and keep everybody happy.
If you want a good night out and would like to meet like minded people, HEAVY LOAD is definitely the place to be.

Heavy Load. A monthly Dance club for Rock Heads. Beardy Rob and Karen The hIppie take to the decks for their monthly celebration of cool things that Rocked the world from the mid 1960's to mid 70's. Skynyrd, The Who, Doors, Stones, Deep Purple, you know where we're coming from. More mad light projections, many rare original 70's ones beamed through the incense haze as well as good vibes. A night not to miss for sure as it only happens once a month. Just £4 B4 10pm then £6 on... the door. Doors open 9pm. Drinking till 2am, dancing till 3pm. Cloakroom available, £1 an item.

Been going since it was in Bethnal Green... actually before that, above a pub somewhere but I was too out there to remember!!! Best music ever made played LOUD with psychedelic oil light show and excellent people all enveloped in the aroma of joss sticks. BOOMTOWN.

As close to 1969 as you can get, from the music to the clothing to the vibe. We danced all night to the best heavy rock music of the time. Beautiful, wild and wonderful with a peace and love feel that concluded in us all holding hands as we danced round in a circle at the end - just gorgeous. <3
An atmosphere like a wedding reception dance floor, anthems from the Gods of rock, twirling oil and painted glass light projections as true as they were in 1971 and drinks at pub prices. A people club- for the people, by the people. Six out of five
