Thank you so much for the online orders. Items have been collected from the shop and I am packaging them up to send today. I am missing our shop(s) more than ever. Happy Easter 🥚🐥✨ Yesterday on our daily walk I dropped off the first of our isolation bundle orders, a couple of small bunches of beautiful British blooms, some twisted willow and a bar of heavenly @barebones chocolate - plus one of our handwritten cards. It was very well received - there were tears. Flowers really do say it best. There will be some more flower slots up on the website for mid week, funeral flowers are taking precedence till then 😔 so you can preorder for de...livery on Thursday I’m thinking (🤞🤞🤞) - I am hopefully getting more of the delicious British ranunculus too - and these insane tulips from @bespokeflowersbyhanna. Thank you everyone that wiped me out of flowers this weekend - it has never happened before and was lovely getting lost in the blooms again, although the news backdrop has been horrendous I am so worried and fearful for everyone. I took some flowers to my dads this week. He loves them - each day when I phone I get an update on how they are and I am sure they are making his isolation a little easier (that and the plethora of box sets he’s getting through). It made me think - we can’t help much in this strange time, but maybe we can bring some distraction with flowers and give people and alternative way to connect. We’ve got a handful here of beautiful British blooms, ranunculus, orchard blossom, tuli...ps and eucalyptus to bunch up into Easter bouquets. We are also delivering isolation bundles - seasonal bunches to dot around the house and a bar of the incredible @barebones chocolate. You can add one of our vases to the package, a boobs key ring or even a scandi egg cup and it will all be wrapped up and delivered contactless to their doorstep (following the latest Covid 19 guidelines). Just a little update... those of you that have ordered things from us will note that we are sending them to you even though we said we wouldn’t (although in a very untimely fashion) and so we’ve decided as long as we can safely get them to the post office we are continuing to ship items out, once or twice a week as it turns out. My kind of hedge 💫 . Incidentally I’ve been reading heartbreaking posts about funerals without flowers - clearly that isn’t the most heartbreaking thing about a funeral but it’s an added blow. There is a collective called @flowersfromthefarm that I am a member of. British flower growers and florists who champion British flowers (like moi). Should you be in that dreadful position of needing to organise farewell flowers it hasn’t been banned and it is possible. There are fl...ower growers wondering what will happen to their crops and florists twiddling their thumbs. You can find details of florists that use British flowers on their website, and yes I am doing some farewell flowers this week with just British flowers. I was up with the larks again - it was me and the Ocado website doing our daily dance (trying to get a slot for my dad, unsuccessfully). If it wasn’t for the impending tsunami approaching, oh and the craggy old bat hands that mine have become (I have never needed a fresh supply of the wonderful batch handcream more) oh and the homeschooling, I would be relishing this pause in what has been a very full on couple of years. Time to cook, exercise, clean and sort - so many jobs... that had been put off or left to one side are being methodically finished. Reimagining how we will continue if we are lucky and get through this. I do miss the shop terribly but it’s pointless pondering. Thank you to those of you that have purchased things from us in these strange days - we cannot thank you enough. Those injections of cash are so welcome. Big bills are still looming, the big bills are probably why I’m up with the larks, those and the bleeding obvious. Hope you and all your loved ones ok - in spite of the the obvious looming above us, I had a much better day today, home schooling wasn’t as bad, tolerated my husband a little better, did some gardening, and I even set the table for tea. So just like that we are closed. We are still online and as long as we can be we will be. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support - as a new business we’ve had to navigate some real hurdles from the start but nothing like this. We are not alone and we know that. Over the last two plus years we have worked so hard, harder than I’ve ever worked. We opened on Mothering Sunday two years ago and ironically our journey, which was only possible thanks to our... lovely mum who left us some money, ends then too. We are appalling at shouting about ourselves (the greatest sin in our house was to be too pleased with yourself) but we were getting better because know we offered something unique to this city and we loved that. We are still online (I’m repeating myself I know), all orders made before 2pm today will be posted (or delivered direct if they are within 5 miles of the city centre) the new website will be launched soon. We are adapting and want to be able to reopen when it’s safe to do so, but who knows. Did you see 🤩 - the lovely folk at I choose birmingham put us in todays edition, just the kindness and care of this city is so wonderful. Luke’s in the shop today - he will be insisting on the old hand wash and limiting numbers in the store and of course we have an open door policy. He will be there till 2 - after that we will close for good I think, well until this blows over, any orders made after that probably won’t be sent till tomorrow. I have capacity for a couple mor...e Mother’s Day bunches, full of British blooms and gorgeous seasonal blooms (and some not so, my head is very easily turned it seems) I’m arranging them in vases and skipping all the usual fluff so that those fantastic mums don’t have to do a jot and we can limit the old Covid 19. So it’s Wednesday already, what a difference a week makes. Not at the forefront of everyone’s mind but with Mothering Sunday nearly here, and many of our olds cooped up, I wanted to reiterate that if you are not sorted we can help - we will gift wrap, package and post directly to your mom, we can even write the greetings card for you (I have rather nice handwriting when I put my mind to it) and we are not charging for UK shipping. Just pop online and we can help. A card, a b...ooby key ring and some treaty chocolate would have made my moms day, that and a bunch of flowers obvs. Incidentally a huge thank you to those who have bought flowers from me for Mother’s Day. I have a few slots left but will stop taking orders later on so I can get enough flowers. We are popping into the shop today and will be open (but most likely closing at 3). I want to reassure you that if you come in we will be encouraging everyone to wash their hands before touching things, we won’t have too many people in at once and the door will be open to reduce unnecessary contact. We will be doing the same before picking and wrapping any orders, and will be wrapping on a clean surface yada tada yada. We are just taking it one day at a time here. We are open today in @gwabirmingham , we have waived shipping fees online and will be sending things out for as long as deliveries are still possible. I’m very much taking orders for Mother’s Day flowers and have capacity for some more (everything is being kept clean - I’m going to do the arrangements in vases again to minimise the need for handling and we will be wearing gloves and keeping everything spotless and sterile as can... be. I will also be leaving the flowers at a safe distance when we deliver them etc etc). Let’s face it - we are in a bind, and until told otherwise or we get poorly we will be here for all your flowery, fancy goods and homeward needs ..probably not in the shop but absolutely online. Our new website will be launched super soon and shipping will be free whilst this is all on.. We are so grateful for everyone that has supported us thus far, whether we can weather this particular storm I don’t know, we are certainly not alone and I am full of worry (did anyone else not actually sleep last night) but in the scheme of things it’s ok. Hi there - crumbs we are in incredibly worrisome times.. We are open and thankfully have our own washing facilities in store (the lovely stoneware sink is finally coming into its own). We are all feeling well still and are cleaning and keeping clean, encouraging card payments and hand washing. Thankfully our corner of town is always quite sleepy so if you are needing to get things it’s probably the best bit to venture to.
