Give your skin some LOOOOVE! 💖 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ On any day, not just on the day of love.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀... The best way I can describe this combo is you wake up as if you’ve slept 15 hours straight.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Smoother, brighter and nourished skin in a jar and a bottle!
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ COSMEDIX is a professional skincare brand that uses “clean ingredients, clinical level actives, luxurious textures and pure natural botanicals” to deliver results.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Just like my hair care brand! Notice a trend here? I love safe beauty, with clinical proof, that WORKS.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The market is flooded with natural products. The majority are nothing more than a bunch of ingredients mixed together, a lot of them with questionable quality of safety and no results to show.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Choose wisely and don’t wash your money down the drain! Very often, it is well worth investing a bit more upfront to get active ingredients that will actually help your skin and hair. Same goes for supplements.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The Pure C crystals are 100% L-ascorbic acid Vit C to help brighten skin, even skin tone, fight free radicals and improve texture. I mix it with the Mystic Treatment mist, which is awesome for hydration.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Cosmedix is a brand I discovered around 12 years ago and love some of the products (not everything in every brand works for everyone!). Their facial cleansers are probably the best on the market in terms of quality - value - results.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I consult with and I buy mine from Anna at Beautopia, an award winning beautician to the celebs with extensive & up-to-date clinical knowledge on everything skin and beauty products.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ She is the owner of the award winning mobile spa Beautopia, one of the mobile beauty pioneers here in London.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ No affiliation, just love the professional approach and how much she’s helped me with my skin topically. 💕
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Her and I make the dream team - I help your skin from within, she works her magic on the outside! 💕 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #heelsmatter

What is healing? A transformation. You body, mind and soul moving from one state into another. Transformations are never straightforward.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The spiral doesn’t go in a linear or upward fashion all the time.
... .⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ It’s a bit like peeling an onion. New layers come to the surface.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Or sorting out our wardrobes. To do a proper job, we pull all the clothes out in a big pile, or several. Everything looks worse. Temporarily. Before a new order is established.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Sometimes the healing is quicker. Other times, it takes longer. It all depends on what we are dealing with.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ At times, it resembles seismic shifts. So big that everything trembles loudly for a while.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Give yourself time. Give yourself space. Give yourself compassion.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Especially with deeper-rooted, longer-term issues of any kind.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ They WILL take time.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Grief, chronic illnesses, longer standing *conditions*, sustainable weight loss (not rapid!), mental health & trauma….
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ All these took time to become what they are today. They may take longer than you’d like to to get resolved and rebalanced.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I’ve been through a number a long-running issues, both physical and otherwise (well, it’s all interconnected, far more than we realise).
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The BEST piece of advice I can give you is this: Be PATIENT. Be LOVING. Be PRESENT. Seek qualified HELP if you need it.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Your journey is unique and at times it cannot be rushed.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Know THIS. Have trust that you can and will get better. In your own time. The mind can be a dealbreaker.💖💖💖

Get this checked if your winter coat has been your BFF for the last 4 months! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ And if you’ve not seen any warm 🌞🌞🌞sunshine rays in a sun holiday destination. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Yep, talking a bout Vit D. By about this time of the year, our reserves from the summer tend to get depleted.... ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ And winter sunshine, as fab as it is, is not adequate for proper Vit D production due to the angle of the rays. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Vit D is essential for immune health and thus overall health. The most accurate way to measure how much Vit D is in your body is the 25-hydroxy vitamin D blood test. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⬇️ Some of the signs of Vit D deficiency. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Getting sick often ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Bone health issues ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Back pain ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Impaired wound healing ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Muscle pain ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Depression ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Some studies have even linked optimal Vit D levels with protection from cancer. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ It’s always a good idea to get your levels checked before you reach for supplementation.🌞 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #heelsmatter #vitd

When you can’t decide on a salad, you make two! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I’ve been eating more warmer meals for lunch (I think the cold weather got to me!) and my body naturally started craving more of the high water salads it is normally used to. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ It’s amazing to notice the difference how much more dehydrating cooked food is. I’ve been waking up with dry mouth every day and even my eyes have been dry. Only from switching fresh salads to cooked food at lunch.... ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Salad 1 - cabbage, carrots, celery, cucumber and dill. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Salad 2 - tomatoes, rocket and parsley. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ You know me, I keep things simple! You can pair them up with anything else you desire. Mmmm 😋😋😋 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #heelsmatter

3) More action, less thinking. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I think these 3 make up for a lovely Feb. What do you think? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Self-love is ALWAYS a very good idea, but body-mind care and extra awareness are especially needed in Feb if you like me live in a cold place.... ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Feb is statistically the coldest month in Europe. I’ve spoken to so many people, who just simply struggle with that. Myself included! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The general grey, wet and just plain miserable weather does have an effect on our physical health and our mood. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ You didn’t get everything done on your to-do list, work or otherwise? It matters not. Tomorrow is another day. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Extra Netflix, books, warm drinks, nourishing soups, keeping warm and generally hibernating more…. all things that align us with nature and we should be doing anyway. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ And it’s good to know spring is just around the corner and a new stream of energy and life is on its way. YAY! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ What are your intentions this month? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ What is your number 3? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ 📷@ladieswholaunch_ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #heelsmatter

It all starts and ends with our breath.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I used to not get the hype around “proper breathing”, “breathing course”, “deep belly breathing” and the like.
... .⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ What’s the big deal? It sounded too booooring.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Until I slowed down (a very gradual process), became more mindful of how I was living and oh, I found a yoga class I liked after years of not being a yoga girl.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I made the connection. The reason I was loving yoga, and feeling calm and collected afterwards was partly down the deep, proper breathing.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ We are ready when we are ready to hear something, right?
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Aside from being absolutely essential for life, how we breathe tells our cells a lot about what life looks like for us on the outside.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ And of course, getting enough oxygen to the cells vs the bare minimum would ensure our body functions at its optimal.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I sound like a broken record, but a few deep, belly breaths a day can make a massive difference.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ How? For starters, when we are calm, we digest our food way better.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Result? Less bloating, cramping, heaviness, and more digestion, absorption and assimilation into the cells.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Kind of a big deal as the organic food you’re buying travels a long road and goes through many “gates” and complex processes before it reaches your cells.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Unless it’s in the cells? It doesn’t matter. Money down the drain.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ That is just ONE crucial aspect of proper breathing. Just one!
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Try THIS. ➡️ Before you start eating, take a few deep belly breaths. Over time, you will start noticing positive changes.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ And have you heard of the 4-7-8 breathing? It’s the BOMB. Check the “Quick and easy relaxation tool” post on my blog about it. Link in comments.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Do ya think proper breathing is kinda important? No judging (as always), of course, I couldn’t care less about it until a few years ago!

Hands up! 🙋‍♀️ Anyone here intimidated by cooking?
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Cooking & I were not friends. At all. So much so that I remember mum sending me home cooked meals at Uni from time to time. Cos buying wholesome food was not on my list of priorities, you know.
... .⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The process from raw ingredients to the final cooked meal, especially if it was a one pot meal - no exaggeration - was out of this world magic to me.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The biggest hurdles I hear from clients to consistently eating healthily: 1◻ Cooking is for chefs 2◻ I don’t have time
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ You don’t need skills or much time at all. Just a desire to experiment a little (the fear of cooking goes away pretty quickly), simple recipes you can batch cook with + a simple planning/prep system.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ But before all this, there is the million question. But how do I know which ingredients are healthy? It's sooo confusing with so much conflicting info!
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ High-five! 🙋‍♀️ IT IS. Hence why I created ⭐THE KITCHEN MAKEOVER GUIDE ⭐- to basically stop recreating the wheel every time I get this question + spend quality time with clients discussing hormones or how we can shine powerfully as women in the world. The juicy stuff. 😉
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Grab you guide (link in comments) and you’ll also receive a few other gems over the coming weeks. The Trilogy, as I call them. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ➕ Where to buy quality ingredients - typical places + actual links for those in the UK. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ➕ A simple system for meal prep. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ BONUS ⭐ One of my top online recipe planning websites, that caters for all dietary preferences.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The Trilogy is a lifesafer.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ As for this meal? Roasted pumpkin, sauteed onions and garlic with herbs of choice, blended until smooth (Yep, I live in my blender!), topped with roasted pumpkin seeds.
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Insta ready and soooo delish. And if you can’t tell, the mag is all about home design and 🛁, as this is where I spent my daydreaming hours, prepping for a move!
.⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ALL this FREE goodness will save you hours upon hours of research - I've done the legwork for you. Link in comments.💖

⭐ HORMONES and this beauty ⭐
.⠀⠀ ⠀ Let’s chat cruciferous veggies. What ARE they? Cauliflower, rocket leaves, bok choy, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, collard greens, kale, kohlrabi, radish, turnips.
... .⠀⠀ ⠀ What are their special SUPER powers? They reduce inflammation (not a good thing when it’s ongoing!), have cancer fighting properties, promote weight loss, regulate hormones + more.
.⠀⠀ ⠀ Hormones LOVE balance. They need to be processed and leave the body once we are done with them.
.⠀ ⠀ Estrogen is a hot topic right now as many women (and some men!) battle with estrogen dominance. One reason for this is too much estrogen in the body.
.⠀ ⠀ Here’s where cruciferous veggies come into play. They are awesome at aiding in estrogen detox and clearance. Your liver loves them!
.⠀ ⠀ BONUS points - cabbages and the like are loaded with fibre and sweep out the gunk out of your intestines so if you’re stuck, give them a try! Yep, 💩 matters in a big way for general health and optimal weight.😉
.⠀⠀ ⠀ Bottom line: cruciferous veggies are YOUR FRIENDS. Find a way to include them in your meals on a regular basis to support your body’s detox & other processes.
.⠀ ⠀ See? Not a green powder in sight! Start with the everyday powerful detox hero wholefoods and then move onto green powders, targeted supplements and the like if you need more help. 💚

Spice up your salads!
•⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ My long-running love affair - roasted pumpkin seeds. Deeeelish! My first love is roasted sunflower seeds 😍
... •⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Raw seeds & nuts tend to be more nutrient dense, but raw pumpkin seeds are just not a favorite of mine, unless I add them to porridge or similar. And roasting transforms them!
•⠀⠀ ⠀ They are very high magnesium, a mineral that is very depleted in our soils, yet it is super important as it is involved in over 300 biochemical processes in the body! And many of us could do with more Mg in our diets, it's one of the most common deficiencies I see in clients.
•⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Roast the seeds in the oven for 10-15 mins on low temperature (check them every few mins as they can burn quickly) or in a pan, and store them in an airtight jar in the kitchen. I also add them to soups, super yum!
•⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Make your meals 🥗 flavoursome, enjoyable and easy, the key to sticking to healthy eating.🤩😋

Health Canada no longer recommends 🥛 milk. What do you think?

"Did you know that there’s a natural antidepressant in soil? It’s true.
Mycobacterium vaccae is the substance under study and has indeed been found to mirror the effect on neurons that drugs like Prozac provide.
The bacterium is found in soil and may stimulate serotonin production, which makes you relaxed and happier."
... -------
Despite popular belief in the today's germofobic culture we live in, not all bacteria is *bad*!
Nature is powerful. 🌿

This is the white stuff on my face on the pamper party pic I shared on Sun on my personal profile 🙂 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Love this mask - it pulls out impurities and it smells divine of roses. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The Dr.Organic range is not tested on animals, most of the products are vegan and also free of any nasty chemicals. And it’s pretty inexpensive too!... ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ There are some other good finds in the range like body lotions etc. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ You can also mix your own clay and add essential oils to it - I do that all the time, honestly it’s awesome - this mask is fab for convenience. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Do not leave it on for too long as it does have a drying effect due to the purifying clay. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I follow it on with Rejuveniqe oil for turbo softness and a nutrient boost. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The result is squeaky clean, velvety skin.💖 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ What are you go-to face masks? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #heelsmatter

Trouble losing weight? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Feeling out of sorts?
.... . . . . ⠀⠀ ⠀ Your lipstick 💋 could be the culprit! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Say whaaaat? Yes, you heard that right. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Now, we all know that in theory chemicals are not good for us. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ But things like that are not very tangible hence we tend to dismiss them as not a *priority*, right? ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ After all, if it’s on the shelves, it must be safe. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The reality is quite different. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ The average woman applies over 500 chemicals to her body daily (found in her beauty products) and *eats* about 10 pounds of lipstick over her lifetime! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Whoaaaa! ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ❗A lot of conventional lipsticks contain traces of lead (from contamination with colours used in cosmetics), a metal we stopped adding to our water pipes and paint for a reason. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ 🔬 According to numerous studies, as cited by Dr Sara Gottfried MD, “It’s a proven neurotoxin linked to miscarriage, reduced fertility, and delayed onset of puberty for females. Lead turns weak stress hormones into stronger stress hormones.” It also increases the risk of cancer. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ 🚫 One thing you and I definitely do not need is high cortisol (the stress hormone) on a permanent basis. It triggers all sorts of chained reactions, as the body will always do what’s needed to protects us from serious harm. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Well, permanently elevated cortisol is not healthy, and it starts to wear the body and its systems down (it’s a big tangled web of sophistication in there!), hence why living in a permanent stress mode is not a desirable state. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ❌ And it’s close to impossible to maintain optimal for us weight and feel great when our hormones are not in balance. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Lead is just ONE of the chemicals found in lipsticks - there is all the waxes, colours, fragrances, petroleum and other chemicals that can and do find their way into conventional cosmetics. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ So please, please, please switch to safer cosmetics and beauty products. There is so much choice on the market now, we hardly have any excuses! 💋 ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ I am working on a guide about safer brands! In the meantime, you can use the EWG’s database. Whilst not absolutely perfect, it’s a great resource. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #heelsmatter 📷@bran_cuzi

🌿 SALAD BOATS 🌿
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ Just because! I eat mainly salads for lunch, and this is what happened in the kitchen yesterday.
... •⠀⠀ ⠀ I am on a rehydration stretch, even more so than usual, after my flight the other day and fresh salads tick all the boxes!
• ⠀ Wash and towel dry a few romaine lettuce leaves.
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ FILLING: ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ▪Rocket ▪Red pepper ▪Spring onions ▪Avocado ▪Olives ▪Broccoli sprouts ▪Shelled hemp seeds ▪Vegan cheese ▪Lemon juice
⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ You can use anything you like - cucumbers, tomatoes, radishes etc.
•⠀ ⠀ They were delish! And a bit messy, LOL! Next time I won’t overload them quite so much.😂
• ⠀ Perfect for a light snack, main meal, as a side dish.
•⠀⠀ ⠀ You can add anything cooked to them too - sweet potatoes, meat, fish, chicken, eggs etc., depending on your diet preferences.
•⠀ ⠀ I almost added chickpeas too and it’s a good thing I didn’t as they would have rolled everywhere! A bit of humus would have been delish too and a good *binder*.
•⠀ ⠀ So, be creative with your food from time to time to avoid boredom. Our senses love variety.
• ⠀ These took the grand total time of 10mins to make. 😋
• Hard to argue that consuming healthy foods is time-taxing, complex and requires special skills, rght? 😉
