Stretton Parish Council is planning to include a swathe of knitted and crocheted poppies as part of its 2018 Remembrance Day celebrations in November. I’ve started my first poppy from an easy pattern given to me by Cathy (Cathy’s Cosy World), who knits our tea cosies. I’m not a great knitter but it really isn’t difficult. If anyone would like to contribute any poppies either knitted or crocheted, any size or design or would like a pattern to work to just let me know. The lovely Elaine Pritchard is organising this and there’s another workshop tomorrow if you’d like to learn how to crochet a poppy- info on Elaine’s page. Thank you 🌺

when ever I visit burton I always must have to visit here, there are always a selection of home made cakes and at a reasonable price. I love the fact they also do sugar free cakes which still taste amazing. the atmosphere is always lovely, the only worrying thing is it is small and there are times we have had to go away and come back but it is always worth it. Keep up the good work and I will be back for my sugar free scone very soon :) x
Wonderful service! Ordered a birthday cake fairly short notice and collected on a Saturday morning. Cake was decorated beautifully and tasted lovely, enjoyed by all. So impressed. Whilst collecting the cake, I had a look at the menu and cakes/pastries on display and all looked delicious. Planning a visit for tea and cake in the tea room very soon! Definitely five stars!
We love this place as a family, always friendly and never had a bad experience #lovethehomecookedfood! and the kiddies love the milkshakes here too! 👍
Visited for the first time today and was impressed. My two year old couldn't finish his enormous slab of chocolate cake, so I was forced to help out. Yum! My tea cake was truly smothered in butter. I was also completely impressed by the Suspended Coffee scheme that I read about in the menu, where you can add a little extra to your bill so that at a later date, a homeless person can claim a free coffee to keep them warm. I'd read about one of these schemes but never seen one. Well done Helen's Bakehouse!
Visited for the 1st time with my sister today. We had the afternoon tea for 2 . The staff were very lovely & the food was delicious & very filling �. Definitely will be visiting again .

Such a lovely place with amazing food, savoury and sweet! Helen and the team made us the most gorgeous cake for our engagement party and macarons especially, everybody LOVED them! Will absolutely be coming back for future celebration cakes. Ali x

My fave cafe to go when we come to Burton shopping. Always tell people to go there, such a lovely cafe. Staff are so friendly and you get to know eachother, food is really nice as it's homemade and fresh! Never go anywhere else now!
Lovely tea room with open counter where you can see baking being prepped and cooked. Cakes made are for sale to eat in and can purchase to take home along with farm eggs ,jams, chutneys etc. Vintage décor . Lovely experience. Will return.
Lovely quirky place ! Had lunch of jacket spud and tuna mayo with salad then treacle tart and custard and was delicious ! Lovely friendly staff and great decor ! Definitely recommend 👍👍

Live in Nottinghamshire found this little cafe by chance whilst spending the day in Button waiting for my daughter to come back from Bromsgrove. What a lovely friendly cafe. Food and service were excellent. The music added to the atmosphere would certainly recommend and if I'm ever back in Burton first stop will be Helens
