Hempstead House Hotel & Spa

ive stayed at hemstead house many times new year inc ,booked this weekend for my 84 year old mothers birthday.unable to get into room untill 3 ,but manicure was 1.30 so late or unable got charged £45 because we missed the time good business no way ,evening meal just ripped off please beware,sat in lounge 45mins waiting to be served drinks with tables full of dirty glassers and food plates no service ,then breakfast had to asked to be served after 35 mins 3 wrong meals rude staff then returned to table with plate been under hot plate half of one thin slice of black pudding come on £150 bed and breakfast to get service like this you wont get my money again for £440 for three i wanted to be able to buy a drink and get some vaule for money not any more rip someone esle off you have us

A great afternoon with friends for lunch ,but because they were serving so many tables at once the food had obviously been kept warm under heat lamps as the greens were baked , but excellent never the less.

Quite torn about this hotel. The spa was lovely. The staff in the spa were wonderful, as were the dining room staff. The reception staff and maintenance/ management however were a bit touch and go. We had a few issues while there, and they did not deal with them properly, efficiently and transparently. They then got the owner of the hotel to come and talk to us (totally unnecessary for her and for us as it was their attitude that became problem in the end). She was lovely, and clearly trying hard to make things right, despite her staff (reception and management) not being helpful at all.
I feel a second visit may perhaps change my mind as the people i dealt with may have just had an "off" weekend.

Cozy little place to stay. The rooms are nice and the staff is very friendly. The spa seems nice; I have only used the gym portion of it which is small, but better than most hotel gyms. The hotel both inside and out is very picturesque and the restaurant food is delicious and classy. I actually preferred the brasserie (the spa restaurant) as it was a much less formal atmosphere.

We stayed in the room we had on our wedding night for our anniversary and it was nice but we did have a few issues, the showers temperature was either extremely hot or boiling hot, cold didn't appear to be working, hand shower in the bath didn't work, the toilet seat was broken and the curtains didn't close properly so we had the light blaring through at 5am. The spa was great, nice and clean. All of the staff in the restaurant were good and kept drinks topped up.

Hempstead house was clean and tidy and was a great place to have our training event. The food provided was nice and too a good standard. Would recommend to use again.

Spa day here was great. Staff were friendly, food was excellent and the treatment was very relaxing. The spa was on the small side and more beds to relax on would have been nice, but they've made the best use of the space available. Had it been any busier it might have been an issue, but as it was had a lovely day and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
