Decent chips, excellent fish and I'm incredibly impressed with the service especially with the gluten free - care was taken at every point to make sure there was no cross contamination, everyone was aware when there a gluten free meal so that there was no mix up. Thank you!

Absolutely delicious! I really love this place. Their staffs are friendly, reasonable price, and the way they handle their business is professional. Henley definitely deserves all the awards. You all should try their curry sauce. You will never regret. Trust me, one of the thing that I've regret is the fact that I only discover this place 3 months before I finish my degree. Don't waste your time and come eat!

Saw all the awards they have won as thought we would give them a try! To be honest wished I had not, the fish (cod) was very thin and swimming in oil very greasy indeed with little taste. The chips were soggy, over cooked with loads of the crisply bits mixed in and not so many chips!

I have always said if food is good I don't care how much it is but this is well below the standards of fish & chips we eat often in London

Would love to know how they win these awards as they would not win any from me!

And when you ask for a butter bread roll all you get is a floured burger bun ( which tasted a bit fishy to be honest!

The best thing I found from here was the carrier bag you get!

I feel they should stop with all the signs, logos, video displays about these awards they have won and work on the classic cod & chips!

The fish and chips are fresh and really good

This is the best fish and chips, not only in Colchester, in fact not only in Essex, but probably the UK. No messing, it is that good. Get there and try it, it's mint.

Arrived as they were closing up at lunchtime and the fryers had been switched off. Courteous enough to rustle up pie and chips for us. Next time I want to try the award winning fried fish.
