Congratulations to teams SwIsh SwIsh and the Queen Elizabeth School, Bromyard for representing the West Midlands region in the FIBA 3x3 National Celebration U14 girls tournament at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester on 16.6.18. Both teams won two out of five of their games which is a brilliant result for these two development teams in a National competition. The girls met Georgia Jones, England Ladies Commonwealth Games Silver medal winner and were very excited to be able to see her Commonwealth medal and have photo opportunities. All of the girls did Herefordshire proud. Thanks to Graham for all of the coaching, opportunities and support that he has given to the girls and to all of the parents who travelled to Manchester to give their support 🏀
Wonderful news from Gloucester and the Glozball u12 3x3 basketball tournament. Herefordshires ROAR Basketball, playing with 3 players from yr 5 at Fownhope School and a player from Stroud played and beat teams from Worcester Wolves, Bristol Flyers and the home team, Gloucester Saxons. Having lost to Saxons, ROAR won the Group phase on points scored. In the playoff phase ROAR beat Saxons "Blue" and then in the semi final faced Saxons Red, the team that beat them in the gro...up phase. Showing incredible spirit, ROAR came back from 5 points adrift to win it by a point in the final minute to set up a final match with the biggest team in the competition, Worcester Wolves. ROAR had already beaten Worcester earlier and after the excitement of the semi, the final proved to be something of an anti climax with ROAR easily winning through a flurry of baskets in the second half. James, Seb, Bodhi and William, Winners of Glozball 3x3!

Herefordshire girls winning the Regional 3x3 Tournament
Herefordshire WINNERS!
Fantastic achievement today in West Brom for Herefordshire Basketball. At our own 3x3 tournament, girls from QE Bromyard and Swish Swish from Bishops qualified for the West Midlands Regional 3x3 Girls finals, 3rd place in the Herefordshire tournament, Bishops also travelled and entered the West Brom tournament today.
On the Day Bromyard were a lttle under strength but still came in with 4th. Bishops made the journey worthwhile as they came through to ...take bronze. Meanwhile the final was contested between Bishops Swish Swish and local team Pink Panthers. Swish Swish continued as the in form team on the day with a convincing victory.
Fabulous positives from this month. An amazing 3x3 home tournament and Herefordshire Teams winning in West Brom at the Regional Finals.
Now it's good luck as girls from Swish Swish, Bromyard / Bishops go forward to represent the West Midlands Region at the National u14 3x3 Celebration in Manchester in June! Pictures show the award celebration with all teams and the Herefordshire girls together.
