Thousands of new trees to combat climate change
I shall be looking into this with a view to obtaining trees for BishopвҖҷs Stortford and the towns that fall within East Herts.
Environment Secretary Michael Gove will today announce a ВЈ10m plan to plant more than 130,000 trees in English towns and cities. Grants will be made available to meet a target of planting 1m trees by 2022 вҖ“ part of efforts to fight against climate change because they store carbon from fossil fuel emission...s. The Urban Tree Challenge Fund, overseen by the Forestry Commission, is open to individuals, councils and charities.
