Mixed experience, just be careful. Shuttle bus to/from Heathrow terminals quick and efficient, and nice car supplied. No hard sale on collision damage waiver insurance as covered by credit card. However, we were misinformed over fuel purchase option - DO NOT agree to Fuel Purchase Option. While they claim the rate per litre is less than a regular garage, you pay for a full tank, and the chance of returning empty is nil. Just stick with the usual take full and return full. Also, on pick up the onus is on you to notify any damage to Hertz, but on return, they examine the car with a microscope - we got charged 165 pounds for a barely noticeable scratch/mark which I cannot see they will repair. Overall, be aware that they probably attract you with a good sticker price, but then try and screw you with extras and questionable damage claims.

Mixed experience, care required. Shuttle service was friendly and helpful, on arrival, staff were working to clear busy queues. Noticed hard-selling by staff to upgrade to full insurance cover, and for my own part, personal insurance coverage (which was never mentioned by staff during the discussion) was tacked on to the bill, in addition to the full insurance coverage. Returning the car was uncomplicated, probably because full coverage was present. Staff attitudes ranged from pleasant to unhelpful. I'm not inclined to return to Hertz Heathrow.

Terrible customer service. To begin with the registration office was packed with people waiting to get their cars but the process was very slow because the agents spent so much time trying to sell additional services and insurance coverage. They didn't seem to care that customers were being inconvenienced. Secondly, our rental car didn't have the instruction manual in the car, so it was a problem figuring out how all of the car's features worked. Some of that was just annoying; other times it became a real inconvenience. Finally, when I turned the car in the agent offered to call a taxi to get me to my hotel. As it turned out, it wasn't a legitimate taxi at all but a private car and I was charged what turned out to be about ten US dollars per mile. Hertz doesn't appear to be bothered by their employees running scams on their customers.

Took a car in FireFly here - Hertz discounter.
Perfect new bigger car just for 112GBP for 7 days. Just one scratch you most probably can not to take into account.
You can negotiate! full excess insurance price and as a result to have it at quite fair price.
Good service on taking the car and returning it. Everything is fast and clear enough. Good shuttle bus service.
It was really good experience.

In the lot almost hit by an employee parking a car.1st car had a faulty clutch which failed 2 miles down the road. Manager was rude and outright hateful. Went on and on about how the thoroughly inspect every vehicle. Get in our second car(had to pay for an upgrade as they didn't have what we had rented originally) there was trash in the car. Hateful manager refused to speak with me after coming back to point his out. Instead gave us another car which didn't have the gps in which we were told it would have. Overall, it was the worst customer experience I have ever had. That manager doesn't deserve to have a job. She was rude and argumentative with other customers in front of us and others.

No issues. The car was ready upon arrival and the return was quick and easy. Recommended but the wait for a shuttle after the return was a bit too long.

My family and I rented a car here for our vacation, and the person who was renting us the car put pressure on us to rent a different car that would have been twice as expensive. The person who was renting us the car was to busy trying to rent us the other car that he did not give us the correct paperwork to take the car out of the lot so we had to return to the car rental place again to pick up the right paperwork. About 300 miles into our trip a warning light came on saying that if the car was not serviced in 600 miles of driving the car would not start. The trip that we had planned required more then 600 miles of driving but, we did not want to take any chances that something else could happen to the car so we had to find a hertz location that was still open at 10:30 pm. We had prepaid for a tank of gas when we rented the first car so that we would not have to completely fill up the gas tank before we returned the car, but since we tried to return the car early the staff that was their made us pay for the tank of gas since it was not full. When we returned the second car the staff at the car return would not reimburse us for the cost of gas.

Service is generally courteous, but be VERY CAREFUL when renting from this place, when I returned my car, the guy circled the car many times for the inspection. During my 20+ year car renting experience I've never seen someone this thorough.

He finally found a small chip on the lower windshield and charged me for the repair (pretty sure it was there before me, but I wouldn't have found it even if I were asked to check) .... Beside added delay for catching the flight, I'll also have to spend a lot of time time dealing with the insurance company.

Terrible service, poor choice of cars and doesn't accept Hertz points. On my latest visit picking up the car was a nightmare, having to wait for 20 mins for someone to come and speak to me (as Hertz Gold!). Returning the car was far worse, a queue of returns out onto the major road, taking them 20 mins or more to clear the backlog, then the shuttle bus took forever! Worst experience at a Hertz yet and I don't say this likely.

Worse of all, this location has got significantly worse in 3 years I've been collecting cars from here. It might be time for me to switch to another rental car provider, as I don't have many options with pickup location.

I received a free "upgrade" where I had a Ford Focus almost entirely broken instead of the Fiat Panda.

It worked fine, but I won't trust them that much for the next time, and I will ask for a new car (or not damaged at least)

I hired a car over the holiday period, and was provided a larger model (which helped with our luggage) at no extra cost. Although the check-in at the location was a little slow, the overall service I received was very good, including the shuttle staff, who were prompt, and courteous. The return procedure was very smooth, and with no delay in getting to the airport on time. I would recommend, and use this location again.
