Just to confirm I’m not leading any ride this evening (Tuesday 29th January) with the various weather warnings today/tomorrow in place. If you’re commuting via bike especially tomorrow morning take care out there, Mark

I will lead the club ride of approx 40 miles on Sunday 27th January departing Hethersett Social Club at 09.00am.
Unfortunately the forecasters are predicting continuous heavy rain and very strong N.W wind so we will depart for the cafe at Yaxham Waters via Wymondham, Hingham and Shipdham and return with a tail wind via Brandon Parva and Barnham Broom.
All Members and Guests are welcome but please remember Helmets are compulsory plus spare tube, pump and money for the cafe sto...p.
I look forward to seeing as many members as possible on Sunday, if you're attending as a guest rider please let us know in advance that you'll be joining us.

This Sunday's HWVC Social Ride led to Chris takes us over to Cafe Cadence in Old Buckenham for our regular monthly trip. Usual club t's & c's apply, mandatory helmet & spare inner tube. If you're interested in coming along as a guest rider please message us so we know to expect you.

Happy New Year. Now that festivities are over it's back to our regular Sunday 9am rides heading out from Hethersett Social Club, usually 35-40miles at an average of 14-15mph, and with a coffee stop halfway. Tuesday and Thursday night rides will be more ad hoc until the clocks go forward, watch out for posts (usually the day before), they will also be posted on our website hwveloclub.com on the title page. If you are considering joining a ride as a guest rider for the first time please message the club and let us know in advance so we can let the relevant ride leader know.

There is a club ride on for tonight (Thursday 29th), leaves Hethersett Social Club at 7pm, back 9-9.15. Route TBC but we'll be heading into city to do a loop including some hills. Latest weather conditions show 30-40% chance of rain in first half of ride, evening temp is a mild 10c, feels like 7c, with a gusty head wind on way back. Usual club t's & c's apply, mandatory cycling helmet, spare tube, and decent lights. Distance approx 25 miles @ 15-16 mph average speed. Please comment if you're thinking of coming along.

This Tuesday's Night's ride starts at 7pm from Hethersett Social and sees a initial circuit over to Trowse, back via King Street through the Cathedral grounds, cutting up through Mousehold Heath, and back to Hethersett via the UEA, 25 miles in total at an average of 13-14 mph based on the stop start nature of the route.
This route consists of road and tarmac cycle paths, it would be perfect for Hybrid/CX or perhaps a MTB on slicks, however if you only possess a road bike it c...an be adapted as we go round.
T's and C's apply, mandatory helmet, spare tube, and of course excellent lights.
If you're thinking of coming along please message to let us know in advance.

There is no Tuesday night ride this evening. If you are looking to get out before the weekend, you've got the HOGOT ride daytime tomorrow, and I'll be heading out from HHQ Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm, 25 miles @ 15 mph average, with Wednesday the flatter of the 2 routes. Please comment to confirm your attendance, usual t's & c's apply, mandatory helmet, spare tubes, and decent lights. The weather remains very mild at 10 degrees and dry👍

Tuesday Night Ride 30/10/18
Please note - 7pm start time.
Tomorrows weather forecast is rain from 3am to 4pm so the route maybe subject to change if the country lanes look like they'll be waterlogged. If so we'll switch to a city loop instead. It's also a northerly wind again (feels like 3-4 degrees) so make sure you've plenty of layers.
... Either route we'll be taking it steady, average is expected to be the usual 15 mph, and around 25 miles which should see us back at Hethersett Social around 8.30pm - 8.45pm. Usual T's & C's apply, mandatory helmet, spare tube (it's flinty out there) and of course decent lights.
If you're thinking of coming along as a guest rider please message to let us know to expect you - thanks!
