Lovely Northumbria market town with this church at its heart
It felt very welcoming and peaceful. We were at evensong and it was really nice.
Well worth a walk round the history of this place is very interesting and it even has hands on exhibits.
Beautiful building and wonderful information area that will engage children. A truly spiritual place. Make sure to visit the 7th century crypt of St. Wilfred.
When in Hexham, don't miss the Abbey. Its beautiful and amazing, with terrific history behind it. The new Visitor Centre there is well worth a visit. Plus, don't forget the Refectory Cafe. The home made cheese scones and fruit scones (especially loaded with cream and jam) are delicious.
Beautiful Abbey and well worth a look around.
A great Abbey and a very friendly staff. A very helpful young lady met me as i entered and provided a good run down of the abbey, even told me to hurry as a group was about to go into the crypt. Well worth the time and I enjoyed the very interesting Saxon crypt. Thanks guys
beautiful place to observe the rituals of Christianity. As always try to be there when the organist is rehearsing!
Lovely abbey, really helpful, enthusiastic staff who were full of fascinating information. Go to the Refectory Café for lunch or refreshments; fab food, recently renovated eating area.
