We are absolutely delighted with our Year 6 pupils and their fantastic outcomes from the KS2 SATs. These results are testament to their outstanding work ethic and resilience as well as our brilliant teaching and support team. The pupils all worked so hard this year and we are confident that they will progress into the secondary phase of their education with the knowledge and understanding required. We hope they were all as equally proud as we were!

Earlier this week, our pupils took part in a Plastic Pollution workshop. They had to fuse plastic bags together to make a durable recycled material. Miss Kwella gave the pupils the theme of ‘animals’; they had to create textile motifs using plastic bags.

This term, Year 7 and 8 are given the opportunity to make and present one of the dishes they have made this year in food technology. Year 8 can choose from spaghetti bolognese, Swiss roll, upside down cake, stir fry, carrot cake, toad in the hole or sausage rolls. Year 7 can choose from shortcrust pastry triangles, scones, minestrone soup, fish fingers or pizza. They can adapt the recipe in any way they want.
Pupils have one hour to make and present the dish of their choice. They must work independently and are assessed on their practical skills, independence and presentation techniques. See the photos for some of the fantastic results!

The Hexham Cake Fest took place on Saturday 6 July at Hexham Community Centre. The festival involved making an edible map of Hexham from cake. The bakers from the Hexham community baked iconic buildings and bridges from Hexham out of cake. All of the cakes were incredible, and it was a fantastic event!
Miss Kwella and 5 Key Stage 3 pupils took on the challenge and constructed a model of the Fellside building from cake. Hannah C, Halle S, Edward D, Katherine H and Lucianna A a...ll worked very hard over a period of a week to make the cake.
Well done to all the pupils and a huge thank you to Hannah and Mrs C for collecting the cake from HMS and taking it to the festival on the day. Benedict S and Jack B from Year 7 also participated and constructed Egger in their own time which also looked fantastic.
Miss Kwella and the pupils were delighted to have taken part and were really pleased with the cake.
