Hexham Racecourse Caravan Site
Reviews
Had caravan there at a Halloween party. Great fun.
It's true. It's the most beautiful racecourse in England, and a great place to watch Josie's Dragonfly Trust's 10-mile challenge walk.
We stayed here for two nights as part of an extended trip to several locations across the North of England and the Scottish Borders. We were shown to the camping area and pitched up our five man tent. It was a lovely little corner of the site squared off with small evergreen trees. We had a pick of pitches as there was only one other tent on our arrival. Right on the edge of the racecourse you have some fantastic views of the tyne valley.
Facilities were ideal with drinking water available at several points. The toilet facilities were good and cleaned by the site manager regularly. In fact she never stopped working to keep the site tidy and was on hand to help you with anything you needed. The showers are great, hot with a removable shower head.
The site has a games room with a pool table, table tennis table, bar football and air hockey table. It also had a flat screen tv on the wall. Our 6 and 3 year olds enjoyed the games room and we would spend an hour or so in there both nights.
The site is a few minutes drive from Hexham itself with plenty of shops and good pubs. All in all a very good site for families, we will be back again.
Beautiful setting but a little exposed for our Go-Pod and awning.
Very friendly staff, bit older place but it will do :-D we where happy to find something afterall :-D
Great nice and quiet we went with the tent and had the area to ourselves spot on
Great views but aged facilities and random permanent residents practicing lamping at 11 o'clock at night. Also kids playground looks dangerous. Old style roundabout puts kids limbs at risk and climbing rope poles snapped so swings excessively.
Wet soggy dirty
