bought a pair of 'waterproof' boots less than 3 months ago. they have never been waterproof and they are now falling apart. what a load of rubbish. will never use hi tec stuff again.

What a excellent, brillant customer service, i'd just bought boots from them, had fault, they swapped them straight away, i love these boots.

My altitude IV boots have lasted 8 years and counting! They've spent a year in New Zealand and Australia, been to Mongolia twice and on every University Mountaineering Club trip for 4 years. They've been up Tryfan, Cadair Idris, pen y fan, much of the lakes and the peaks. And 3. 5 years of dog walks! I've worn the heels slightly and replaced the laces once. They've not been particularly well cared for, only re waterproofed every year or so. Really impressed with how they've done. Total bargain.

I would just like to say how nice it is to find a major company providing exceptional customer service and more specifically Jayne Scrivener for her assistance.

I have rated Hi-Tec 5 stars for customer service . Jayne dealt with my probem quicky and effiecently . Would highly recomend thier footwear. Excellent service. Thank you great boots.

Have just purchased a pair of walking shoes from the company. Very comfortable and reasonable prices.

Excellently built footwear, at a price that EVERYONE can afford. Customer service is second to none. I wish more companies were like HiTec. I've been a faithful customer for 20 years, and I haven't regretted it once :)

This is jacklien who a consumers of Taiwan , I bought a pair of Hitec hiking shoes recently, I very love it, But I accidentally broke a shoelace, I tried to Hitec Taiwan distributor to buy shoelaces, Disappointed that They gave me the answer is no shoelace to sell, Worse I can’t find this shoes longer shoelaces on the Taiwan market,

May I ask did you buy a new same origin of the shoelace if so I am very grateful, very thank you.

I can't comment on quality of the footwear as it hasn't been delivered yet despite paying for next day delivery. When I phoned your customer service was very helpful and phoned the courier (Fedex) and instructed them to deliver the next day (today) and leave in my garage. Guess what - no delivery! just a crumpled bit of paper from Fedex left in the access road and as much use as a chocolate teapot. They obviously didn't even attempt to knock on the door! The tracking number doesn't seem to be recognised by Fedex so I guess I'll be phoning you again on Wednesday !

I had a pair of hi-tec walking boots for 10+ years. They started to leak so treated myself to new hi-tec boots. 13months after buying them they start leaking too. The retailer on had a 12month return/repair policy so I ask hi-tec if they can help. By this time it's 14months after purchase and they say 'it is well over the 12month return/warranty' so they can't help. Hi-tec boots no longer last as long as they used to. 14months after getting new boots I have to buy another pair- certainly won't be hi-tec.

So disappointed with the way your walking boots have deteriorated in quality in recent years. I had several pairs that lasted me for well over a year, but the last 3 pairs I've had have been atrocious. The latest pair haven't even lasted 3 months, despite me taking impeccable care of them. I've kept them clean with Nikwax cleaning gel and reproofed them with the correct Nikwax waterproofer, and yet still they're beginning to come apart and let in water. I expect much, much better than this for over £150. I could get Sports Direct specials for less than £30 that would last longer than this.

I will never buy your footwear again.

Poor quality, had one pair and the sole split after 3 months, then got replacement and the insole worn a hole after 2 weeks ! AVOID BUYING HI-TEC

I brought my husband a pair of hi-tec boots at the end of 2015. I specifically chose a pair that had a 'dri-tech' label on so that his feet would keep dry. They started off great but after about 5 months they started letting water leak through. When I found time to return them to millets I was told that the boots are not made to stay waterproof and that I'd have to keep reapplying waterproof spray myself. I thought it seemed like it was misleading to put a label on that says dri-tech if that's only going to last a few months. Now a couple of months on the soles have completely come away at the toes so that I can fit my whole fist in between the sole and the top of the shoe. Disappointing that they lasted less than a year and about quarter of the time his cheap ones from aldi did.

Hi Tec Trekking Shoes are crap. Bought new in Germany,Now 6 months after light use the lace eyelets have frayed and gone bust, HiTec suggest it may be normal wear and tear. Really???? Bootmaker repairers here say it is a crap design and shouldn't have worn out in 6 months. They have offered to repair 4 of the eyelets for $30.They say the eyelets should not be made of swede and a more durable material should be used. It is also a poor design and made in China where quality control is slack. Hi-Tec want me to return the shoes for $38 postage to Europe and they will decide if they will be replaced and repaired.The retail shop in Lahr Germany says the company is complacent and slack when it comes to returns.The Australian HiTec distributor says it is not their business and the retailer in Sydney says they don't stock that shoe and it is not bought from them. Lesson: Don't buy Hi Tec. The good camping stores in Sydney stock better brands and wont touch this footwear for very good reasons.

Having to pay to return shoes that don't fit is just wrong!! other shoe sites don't do this!! not ordering again!
