Based at Sherburn Airfield, 15 miles east of Leeds, we can provide helicopters to suit all your needs from learning to fly to corporate travel to aerial video.
We specialise in any aspect of helicopter flying you can think of.

Our Services
Helicopters are extremely versatile and fascinating machines. If you have a suitable landing and take off area at your home or work place then we can often provide you with a door-to-door service saving valuable time. Suitable landing areas must have a nice clear approach - no low flying over tall trees, houses, wires etc and the actual landing point should be at least the size of a tennis court.
Travelling by helicopter is fast and efficient, avoiding road traffic jams and speed cameras. When time is of the essence, call us.
In some instances a helicopter is the only practical way to access remote locations.
We have a dedicated TV video helicopter regularly booked by the BBC, ITV and independent TV companies to get those super smooth aerial video shots.
Training – we provide CAA approved training for Private Pilots Licences, Commercial Pilots Licences or Instructor ratings.
Weddings – book a helicopter for the finishing touch to your special day. More information on our wedding services can be found on the Wedding menu link.
Arriving in style at an event or party, you and your friends can share the cost of chartering the helicopter.
Special Events - Galas, Rally’s, Game Fairs, County Shows. Have a helicopter offering pleasure flights - a thrill for everyone! Helicopters at events have proven to increase numbers attending as they add that little extra buzz to the day.
Hields Aviation can also provide a static helicopter display and fly-pasts from its classical fleet.
Whilst our aircraft are normally based in Yorkshire, we co-operate with several other major helicopter and fixed-wing operators. Between us we cost-effectively cover the entire United Kingdom. Hields Aviation is therefore able to manage and arrange flights to and from any location and select the best options for you.

Hields Aviation would like to inform its customers that due to technical problems we are unable to attend Sewerby Gala this coming Sunday. We are disappointed that we cannot attend this annual event, and will make sure we are present next year!!! Sorry for any disappointed flyers!

My lovely wife booked me a half hour pleasure flight for my birthday which was exciting enough in itself but made even more amazing when I actually got to take the controls! Huge thanks to our pilot Bob who was so calm and down to earth and everybody else we met whilst there - lovely people. We hope to come back again!
It is an absolutely amazing hidden gem!! Rang last minute for my dads 50th and was booked straight in, no problems! Friendly welcome and down to earth people! The pilot made my mum and dads first flight a treasured lifetime memory- I really couldn't recommend it any more- it was just spectacular! Thank you so much Heilds Aviation!
I had a helicopter flight booked by my son & his wife for my 60th birthday. I had this yesterday & it was amazing - everyone was so friendly & welcoming. My grandchildren & their mum & dad came to watch me, they all had a brilliant time. I will do this again & wouldn't hesitate recommending this to everyone. I'm still buzzing about this. Fantastic flight over emmerdale, Harewood, L&b airport, round leeds city centre to elland road. Staff were very friendly and gave us a glass of champagne when we got back to Sherburn. Highly recommended!

Didn't know that my birthday present was a trail lesson so such a surprise when we arrived at the airfield. Oliver, my instructor, explained primary and secondary effects of the controls clearly and well. The aircraft was clean and easy to handle...

Booked the romantic valentines flight for my girlfriend on valentines day and could not have asked for anything more. A couple of years ago I did a Charity night in the Grapes pub in Slingsby in aid of Women V Cancer as I was cycling 450km over 5 days in Cuba. Robert Heilds and Sam Brookes attended that said evening. During the course of the night Robert donated a helicopter flight for 2 people as an auction prize. Up until this point I had neither heard or met either of them. They did not know me but gladly helped me raise funds for my charity. This shows that if they can....they will. Ive since followed both of them on fb and what I see is nothing but good reports and fantastic gestures. Good luck for the future.
