Lovely architecture and location. The inside is imposing and one is left awestruck. However , the service from the consular corps has scope for improvement.

Understaffed and not practical to deal with the work effectively. There are just two booths to deal with all the people. And that is split between passports, power of attorney and all other matters they deal with. When I was there, there was at least 40 people waiting in an over crowded little waiting room.

Ur call is important to us# ohh really?? My uncle passed away and iam trying to sort out the visa for my cousin.It's been 3 hours and still my call hasn't been answered.what a Shame ..

The building is majestic and the staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. It is the crowd coming with unusual requests and favours, incomplete forms, unusable or ineligible documents, that make the consular services tedious for others also. Most of the people complaining about services do not go through the website instructions and drop in without appointments or keep calling on the busy phone lines. Only place where you can get visa even on a Sunday, of course, in cases of genuine emergencies or exigencies.

Visited in May 2017. All the staff were friendly, helpful, respectful, polite and professional. They made sure I got the ticket I needed, saw the people I needed to and had my questions answered. The staff kept me informed about when the various people I needed to see would be available. Having to wait a little is normal in any busy consular office anywhere in the world and here the waiting room is warm, clean and comfortable. There are toilets, drinking water, a coffee machine, photo booth, and various other useful facilities. The staff made it a pleasant visit.

Worst place ever to go too, customer service is appalling on the phone and in person. I was on hold for 20 minutes before they answered, only to be told to send an e-mail. I really expected better and wish I wasn't Indian, the British embassy is far better! Disgraceful and lazy sums up their attitude. Can't believe I've waited almost a year for a new passport!. Not even worth the one star.

Then it's the same all over. A close relative, is working there(Africa) five years now. No increase in salary, no training, not to mention promotion. He is like a slave in his own country
Though he works hard, no offs even on weekends.

Our urgent business visa applications have apparently been sent to these people from VFS and when I call they keep telling me they don't know what I'm talking about and don't do urgent business visas. He then said he'd transfer my call but just put the phone on his desk so I could hear everyone talking, clearly because he didn't want to deal with the question I was asking and thought he could just wait for me to hang up. Appalling and now I never want to go to India. Not worth the hassle of dealing with these people.
