Your membership extends to boxing and Ju Jitsu though, so take the time to improve your ground game (Tuesday 7pm Friday 7pm) and your hands (Monday Wednesday 8pm Friday 6pm) And please join me in wishing Martin all the best of luck.

Wycombe warriors boxer Jamal Kayani is currently up in Wolverhampton university at the Walsall campus competing in the highly prestigious BUCS boxing championships. Kayani was drawn on day one against tricky southpaw Shaun Doherty from Inverness, Kayani quickly found his range and peppered his taller opponent with sharp right hand leads and heavy left hooks, in round two Kayani regularly found a home to both head and body with his trademark right uppercut, hurting the Scott...ish boxer regular. Kayani came out a comfortable unanimous points winner. In the semi finals Kayani was drawn against Liam Mackie from Rotunda abc a club with a fine history of champions. Mackie had only been beaten once in 11 fights and was a powerful, stocky fighter with heavy hands. Round one started at a high tempo, but it was quickly proven that Kayani was in fact the puncher in the fight, regularly hurting his shorter opponent with heavy right hand counters and punishing hooks. This theme continued throughout the contest, it was therefore a big shock when the compare announced a split decision! Even though one judge failed to spot what everyone else in the building had, a clear Kayani win, the other two judges got it right and Kayani moves into tomorrow's final with his sights firmly set on gold.

Tonight's BJJ is unfortunately cancelled due to the road conditions.

Starting tonight, we've now increased our Brazilian Ju Jitsu classes to twice a week! Tuesdays and Fridays at 7pm. The classes are taken by the awesome Carlos Peixoto and are suitable for both beginners and experienced rollers. Take both classes as part of the fight pass package or simply pay as you train at £8 per session.
