For years I have ended staff meeting in true Hill Street Blues fashion with the quote “let’s be careful out there” much to the amusement or maybe bemusement of my staff. Seems that today’s no better time to repeat this and extend this to everyone. Let’s be careful out there people.

I know we are in crazy times and I know Jams and Chutney is not at the top of the shopping list but we would like to help if we can by offering our products to you at our staff discount price of £1.00 a jar. It will just have an ingredients label no frills but other than that it will be our normal product. We are in the estate by the new Co-Op all I ask is you phone before so we can get it ready, oh and we don’t have card payment facility. Sorry, only cash. This week we said goodbye to our lovely accounts lady Caroline who has been with Highfield for a year and a half and has been training to be a radiographer. She will be spending the next few weeks revising for her final exams. We wish you well Caroline and don’t be a stranger. And will be welcoming Hannah to the team on Monday.
Just a reminder to our local customers that you can buy our delicious preserves from our friends at Halberton Court Farm Shop and The Old Well Garden Centre, which means our produce is sold just over 2.5 miles away from where it was handcrafted.

We are currently putting our staff through their refresher HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) food safety training. Congratulations to our Kitchen Manager, Nick, who sat the Level 3 exam and achieved a Distinction!
We had a fantastic day at The Academy of Cheese Level 1 event yesterday which was held at Quicke's Farm. It was great to learn all about the cheese making process, and to taste and discuss some delicious cheeses. @quickescheese @hanlons_brewery

The tide may have been out, but we still saw beautiful views over Cockwood Harbour this morning as we drove to visit a customer.
It's a lovely, bright morning in Willand, and we're off to Dawlish to visit a customer.
Some beautiful, zesty Seville marmalade is being crafted in the kitchen this morning. The lovely aroma of orange groves and warm summer days on a grey, wet and windy Monday!
We're looking forward to meeting with a new customer today who has adventurous plans for his own range of preserves. Should be a very interesting afternoon!
Some beautiful British rhubarb has just arrived at Highfield and is soon to be handcrafted into delicious, perfectly pink jam.
