Good evening all
After a weeks fishing for me in Germany and Holland it was back to the office this week.
After removing all the dead trees from around edges and removing them from the water and also removing the tons and tons of brambles,The Forgotten ponds over the back of the complex now have daylight,after at least 30 years of zero light in the summer getting into the water it had zero fish life,now the ponds can start getting back to there Glory,These ponds which were d...ug in the 1950s deserve to be bought back to there beautiful best.
Now we have to drain the pond and remove the silt that has taken over the depths.
I will remove some of the pads into one of the other lakes whilst this work is carried out and then place them back in there home,to think when I bought the complex I couldn’t even walk around The Forgotten ponds because there was no gaps or footpaths to walk on,now it’s all open and ready for the next stage.

Sorry to bore you all with the cleaning up of the fishery,but as we post these it will give us a great record of what we were actually faced with,we removed 5 of these dead fallen willows today from directly in the water where they fell many many years ago.

We was back over the forgotten lakes as of yesterday and started in the one job I was dreading,starting to clear a Willow that had fallen 30+ years ago and had sprouted its own forest skyward and into the water.
And a mistake today made our life a lot easier after getting the chainsaw stuck while cutting the big trunk,so to release it we had to go over the other side to bring the mini digger half a mile round the site to lift the trunk so we could release the chainsaw,after w...e had released the chainsaw we said right let’s try and get the massive trunk out of water without having to cut it,And low and behold it came out so a week long job was done in 2 days !!!!!!!

Another job done today,hard graft in the heat but it had to be done,saved us taking it down.This was on the back ponds.A big willow had come down bringing another 2 down with it.
With some rope and a chainsaw it was done in 6 hours.

Love this fish,long and lean with big shoulders and when this drops a belly it should be a very big fish,weighed here at my growing on venue at 24.8 and this was 4 months ago,who knows what this could be come the autumn as I have a strict feeding programme that has been stuck to since I picked all my fish. 😊

I held an open evening on the lakes tonight so local people could see what we are planning on the lakes and surrounding ground,a fantastic turn out of over 40 people who are so excited that a small devolopment like this is happening and they will be able to come and relax and enjoy the abundant nature on site.

Here is another little gem that will grow into a beautiful big gem in a couple years time.

Today we were putting the footpath back to how it was before we started ( Less the grass ),water and electric now finished on the footpath and we removed a lot of the humps and bumps that were there with digger and levelled with a bit of shovel work,now to wait for some rain and seed the area.
Then it’s just the final 350 yards or so to where I need the services.
