THE STORY

Built in 1710 for the aristocratic Orlebar family and modelled on the original Buckingham Palace, Hinwick House is a grand Grade I listed Queen Anne country house set in 38 acres of magnificent parkland.

Hinwick House has served as a private family residence for the last 302 years and the estate consists of the Queen Anne Main House spread over 3 floors with over 20 bedrooms, the Victorian Wing, the Stables, 3 Turret Cottages, the Great Hall, 2 ornamental lakes, a deer park, a magnificent clock tower, a period walled garden and an ancient dovecote.

Originally built for Richard Orlebar and his wife Diana Astry, the Hinwick House and estate has recently undergone a extensive detailed restoration and has now been returned to its former glory as a magnificent family home. The house is now the principal family home of the Singh family.

The house does request and require a levy charge from visitors, the proceeds of which are used in entirety for the upkeep of the house, for investment in further restoration of the estate and lastly for charitable and philanthropic purposes and causes, with a special focus on the local communities and villages in and around Hinwick House.

Hinwick House as an ideal period location for film, TV and photo shoots. The Queen Anne house offers a range of elegant period features including large light rooms, a wide sweeping staircase, sash windows, and access to 13 beautifully-appointed bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. The Victorian wings offers a stone-exposed bar area with vaulted ceiling, commercial kitchen, crew toilets and marquee suitable for set build.
