As some of you may or may not have heard the sad news, The Hippodrome will be opening its doors for a last time in 24 years on Saturday 14th July. We'd all like to thank you all individually for your all love over the past 2 decades.
If you were ever loving life at Volts, raving it up at The Works or slut-dropping at The Hippodrome, come down and give this venue the final send off it deserves!

Saw Fall Out Boy there last night & it was totally awesome. Luckily managed to get a spot on the balcony halfway up the stairs & the view was perfect. Thank you so much to Banquet Records for putting this event on.

Love the style of the place nice friendly faces greeted at the door Ian the manger nice man helped me out when I had questions !!! Needs more variety understanding on waiting times and ques for disabled guests but that's something that is very differcult to complete as people are all different needs to be met mine was on this occasion ! Thanks for a great evening the vamps were a prefect start to a week nice place ❤️

It was pretty cool never been inside or even been to the hippodrome before. Watching Frank Turner and the sleeping souls was awesome and just the way it was set up with space for everyone . It was great

Came to see fall out boy last night with my kids. It was going to be a struggle for my son to see as mega busy. When staff came over and spoke to us and let us watch from the sound booth, which was amazing. Perfect view, my son loved it. Can't thank you guys enough for making the night super. Sorry can't remember the sound guys name, but he is a true legend.

I came here to see Don Broco for their album release last weekend! I loved the venue (it was my first time at the venue and I loved the interior). Staff seemed friendly and helpful and the venue was generally clean. The only negatives are the toilets - they weren't very well kept and almost every cubicle was out of paper. And only one other improvement - the bar was SO busy and we were waiting for ages (and the barman started serving people who hadn't been waiting as long), but I can't blame him - he was the only person behind the bar, so more bar staff would be helpful. But overall, an excellent venue!

For All Clubbing Fans I Highly recommend Hippodrome!!

I visited for my 18th birthday & I had a fantastic night with my Family! Everyone was Buzzing Having a laugh & I Was Just on another level on Friday 16th Dec

I tried to get a bouncer to Dance � & one of the Glass collectors Stopped Collecting for a couple of mins & I insisted He Danced & hd a little fun

Not a fan of Club classics & the Room next to The smoking Area that plays up too date music Was to small to Dance!!!

First time visiting and I thought it was a cracking little venue aside from a few little things. I don’t understand why packets of mints were being confiscated as a ‘food item’, surely that’s a little draconian?! Only serving one alcoholic drink per person was a bit of a pain too, everyone i know always takes turns doing a bar run which we couldn’t do last night!

Was a great night, good music, great atmosphere

But the only problem I had was the men’s toilet as a whole clearly had a blockage urinals, toilets and sinks all started to overflow and it wasn’t very nice piss in while that’s happening 🤢

But other than that great club as a whole

Slight problem with the gents loos last night as the whole place was flooded with urine. Also not sure why the beers have to go into cups when the bottles are plastic. Seems like a waste and more difficult to carry. At the very least get cups that can take the whole bottle.

Music and customer service used to be a lot better a few years ago.. wouldn't reccomend Hippodrome as the best club in Kingston anymore. The smoking area closes far too early as well, and bar tenders don't keep track of who has been waiting longest. More employees should work as hard as Dee (usually on cloakroom or bar) as he always provides good customer service etc. Currently waiting for Saturday night pictures to be uploaded, was shocked that we were asked to buy prints though as we wanted an online version.

Had a great time at Hippodrome seeing Craig David last night. The music afterwards was fantastic too. Completely understand that you were short staffed, but waited half an hour for a drink at the bar upstairs. Had also been waiting 20 minutes to get my coat, when a rude guy pushed in, and the cloakroom attendant didn't bat an eyelid and ignored me when I questioned it. Definitely need more staff here

Could only have bottled drinks as they had run out of cups!

Toilets are absolutely disgusting, I flushed the toilet and it flooded all over the floor yuck!

Stock more cups and hire some cleaners to clean the toilets during your opening times.

Maybe if you had bins dotted around that were emptied throughout opening times people might put their empty bottles in there rather than dump them on the floor.

Bar staff on the upper level furthest from the smoking area where so rude it was unbelievable. Queued for 30 minutes waiting to get served, got annoyed and moved around to an available till only to get told "I've been closed for 10 minutes so you can wait to get served at the one till that's open" by a blonde female. A dark haired male came up to the till, asked if he was clocking on, he said no, told him we'd been waiting for 30 minutes and got point blank told we were lying. Disgraceful service, ridiculous prices and honestly boring atmosphere. Won't be returning again. On the plus, you do meet some very nice people!

Went there for a work party in 2005/2006 and we had this great night where the bouncers (for no reason - and I mean no reason, the whole company I worked for were there including my boss will vouch for this) decided to take me to a back room and beat me up so savagely that they broke my leg - then when I was unconscious they left me out the back alley slumped alone.

Brutally beaten up BY THRRE BIG BOUCNSRS WHEN I DIDNT REALIATE OR INSTIGATE ANYTHING, THEY CONTUNIED TO BEAT ME untill I was knocked out twice - and THEY BROKE MY LEG.



Went to the police the morning after straight from the hospital who said there was nothing they 'could do' as we didn't make a statement on the night it happened so there was no evidence.

Queued 2 hours, paid wrist band and paid an extra £5, only for my friend to be turned away for 'wrong' id (residence id as she is from Vietnam). We weren't pre warned and she got into every other club with same id. ended up paying £40 each and couldn't get in. Bouncers rude and completely discriminatory as American girl got in with same I.d. Horrendous experience, will not return.

If there was an option to give no stars then this is what I would have rated! If your looking for a cheap night out do not attend! If you expect to be out till 3.30 am please do not attend! If you want to be told to leave rudely please attend here! Overall an expensive night out 10 pounds to get in after midnight sticky floor dirty tables place needs to be closed!

I went to see pvris here and the signing. The security was absolutely awful, one of them obviously on drugs as she had pupils that were coming out of her head and gurning extremely badly, which is unacceptable for a band in which most of the fans are young teens. This particular woman also then continued to push me away from the band whilst trying to have a small conversation with them, to the point where I had to apologise to Lynn as I was being physically pushed away from her. Awful experience. The hmv signing is how things should've been carried out.

I'm writing a formal complaint about your employee Barry. I think it's disgraceful that I was sent home for such unreasonable terms, I personally work in this industry and would have handled the situation very differently. On top this I was sent home alone ! As a young woman in London this is a disgrace and you can find that I will never return and give very bad feedback about this venue which is a shame as I've been a regular customer.



I feel discrimaited.



Thank you Hippo for the short lived night I experienced, such a shame. Love the rest of your employees they are sweethearts.
