Hoglets runs drama and storytelling classes for little ones (from birth to 7 years). Classes are jam packed with story performances, drama games, songs, noisy fun and craft. Currently running online classes - and they're FREE!
Hoglets - Theatre Fun For Little Folks Description
Hoglets runs drama and storytelling classes for babies, toddlers and their parents or carers.
Hoglets classes bring storytime to life, taking drama performance skills and applying them to the telling of tales. Classes begin with a story performed by Mama Hoglet herself, actress Gemma Sharp, followed by fun games, songs, craft and advice on the methods used, and how parents can take them home and make them their own.
Classes cover a huge range of exciting drama skills including:
● Shadow Puppets
● Masks
● Voices
● Creating characters
● Physical games
● Creating your own stories
● and lots more. . .
Hoglets storytelling and drama classes are aimed specifically at your little folks aged 0 - walking for baby classes and walking - 5 years for the toddlers class.
Classes cost £4 for your first taster then £4 per week paid in half term blocks

After a sold-out tour last year, we are returning in our hot air balloon for one last show in York, before travelling on to stories new.
A mermaid is an amazing gift for a young girl. But what do you do when it just won’t stop growing? A chance meeting, an act of kindness and an unusual present lead a lonely young girl on the most unexpected journey.
... This new play by Gemma Curry (The Sleep Pirates) will take you on an epic adventure of mystery, magic and mermaids.
Using interactive storytelling, music, movement and puppetry Hoglets Theatre bring this original tale of finding friendship to life for young imaginations.
Aimed at children aged 3-7 years old
Running time: approx 40 minutes
All tickets just £4.50 All children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Babes in arms (0-2 years) free with a paying adult.

As part of the York Literature Festival, Hoglets will be blasting off into the stars with 2 extra special Space training camps.
Starting with a performance of everyone's favourite space-based story "Aliens Love Underpants", Mama Hoglet will take your little ones on an imagination based journey through the cosmos.
1 pm is aimed at Tiny Travellers (aged birth-walking). Using stories, songs, and sensory games we'll be rocketing our babies to the moon and back.
... 2 pm is aimed at more intrepid Space explorers (aged walking- 5's). Together we'll be headed to undiscovered planets, to craft, create and explore. Tickets £5.50 available through the link below

As I’m curled up in bed learning this week’s story ‘The Girl, The Bear and The Magic Shoes’, I’m starting get become a little jealous of the main character Josephine. You see Josephine’s running shoes are magic and change along her journey to help her get where she wants to go. I think I may be a little bit in love with Little Angel Theatre such a gorgeous space. Wow! It’s Night-time is such a captivating show Wee Prickles was absolutely mesmerised throughout. Today was the first day of #mamahogletsmilesformentalhealth. This is a year long set of running challenges to raise money for local mental health charities. This morning was the beginning of the first, and this is just the first of many challenges I’ve set myself to complete this year, races, half marathons, my first marathon and a virtual race to run 1000km by December 31st all to raise much needed money for mental health resources. My first challenge is to run everyday in ...January and a virtual race to run 100 miles this month too. There will be a justgiving page up in a few days and a blog post to explain a little more about what I’m doing and why. (I’ve been a little distracted by a poorly Hitty Hoglet over the past few days. Took my kids to see The Sleep Pirates today, we all loved it! Perfectly aimed at little people and was exactly the right length of time to hold their attention. Well done Hoglets, can’t wait for the next one!
